Your hard work on this piece has clearly paid off. The story stands on its own as a strong work, but because of your strong character development, it could easily be continued into future chapters of the character's lives if you so desired. You should definitely be proud of this effort.

. . . that others have not. You really are coming into your own, Lynn. This piece proves that nicely. The characters come to life, especially Emma. You spoke to us without having to explain everything, and that is what good writers do.

For some reason I missed your story when you first posted it. I'm glad I found it. A story by a female author is very welcomed. I've read all the El Paso stories on this site and yours is certainly first rate like the others. A second chapter would be most appreciated.
