What's the point?

I derived no joy from reading this story. What's the point? I gave it a '25' because it reminded me of how cruel some people can be. So, call it 25 points for some re-enlightenment. What's the author's intention writing, much less publishing such a sad tale?

Short but interesting

Not bad for a story covering the arabian lifestyle then.Now too its not much different. Iam sure you are going to write more to continue.
