Whole eye transplants, yep, SciFi, tis the place.

No one knows how to connect those nerves to regain sight in a transplant. And to assume whe would be a qualified donor really is a jump. Nice twost on slut wife wanting to come home tho.

nice

Its a nice romatic story.

Who cares that this kind of transplant is not possible at the moment. We all can only wish that in the near future these kind of transplants are just a "routine" operation.

Kind regards

Well written though the stretch was a little much

You did a great job with the writing but it was too much a stretch for me to see the wife being so forgiven on the excuse she didn't see anything wrong with her new boy/friend. It was just too much to see the husband collapse into a "Thank God, she still wants me and she didn't know what she was doing" excuse. Hell Rambo lives on also!
I didn’t know you couldn’t do a full eye replacement yet. So that was believable for me.
Thanks for your expansive undertaking and entertainment.
PT

CAN''T SEE THIS HAPPENING

1) Eye transplants are not possible.

2) If they were, live donors are never accepted for parts that will impair the donor. One can't donate one's finger or toe!

3) Improbable story.

But decently written.

Not your best

First of all, who is Billy? Did I miss something somewhere?

The eye transplant was a bit much, IMHO. Beyond that, the story just didn't grab me. 25% for the story, but 75% for writing it and putting it out for critical review.

good story, poor writing

Pity you writing ability isn't as good as your basic ideas; it's like reading an essay by a 10 year old. You need to learn how to string 2 - 3 of your extremely short sentences into one longer better sentence.

Not a hero

Not a hero - an injured man. If every injured man were a hero, then every car smash or drive-by shooting would create heroes. He retreated into the military when his personal life at home became intolerable. A perfectly understandable action, but not a heroic one.

Whether they can transplant the eye and have it work is unimportant

This is fantasy not RL and it was a great story and I - for one - did not know what she did until they said a donor was suddenly found. Ignore the cross matching so he could tolerate the tissue in him and the tech issues it is a good hearted story -

And to the expert anon who said they do not take something that impairs the donr - you are WRONG - I carry another man's kidney in me - live donations are common leaving the other person with only one which IS an impairment dunce.

You also can get liver transplants from live donors (they are preferred) which impairs the donor for some time afterwards - giving up a significant portion of your liver.

If you are going to flame a fantasy as unrealistic at least use actual facts to do it LOL

true in RL

the eye as a whole is never transplanted. the procedure is called corneal transplant. it can be also be obtained 6hrs after death. but l8r mi lee too can receive the same procedure
