Finally a story with some realism!

Will admit he was a bit more civil with the slut than I would have been. You didnt mention the months of STD and AIDS testing once he found out what she had been doing. Amber in mentioning it had been going on for a year really did slam the door. I am glad he got to spend the holiday with her and fuck her brains out. She needed it to grow up and realize what she had really done to the marriage. I hate to hear people say they are going to make it up to you. How can a person go back in time and erase what has happened, then go into you mind and soul and erase the memories and emotions. It cant be done, yep they can give you better sex, until they figure they have you hooked again. But to live 24/7 not totally trusting someone who has already proved they are untrustworthy, live is to short to spend wasting time on a loser. Actually Amber sounded more like what he would need as a wife than she did. Amber had at least realized she had messed up and was willing to accept the blame and try to move up. The ex just wanted back what she had fucked away.

Missing the funny, happy stories

I was glad to see there was a story by HD. But there wasn't the satisfaction or a smile that I've come to expect after reading one of his stories. This one was not funny or tender or full of witt. This was simply a realistic story that left me feeling sad.

Very entertaining story

This was a good look at a man who knows he still sees the house on fire though the land has been cleared and it is ready for a new foundation. He doesn’t want to live in the neighborhood anymore as the memory of that fire leaves shivers in him. Maybe someday the fire will be just a bad memory but for now it is best to let the land lay barren and move to a new neighborhood.The future can bring piece not only in forgiveness but also in a well placed forgetfulness of the red hot pain. Life offers so many new possibilities once we let go of pain and search for new experiences.Thank you for the entertianmentPT

Trust Issues

Trust is so easily lost and so very difficult to regain. Janice would have been better off using the week with Jeff to talk about why she had the affair, why it would never happen again and offering her mea culpa to Jeff rather than giving him pussy on a platter, apparently thinking that great sex equates to a great relationship.

The most important thing in a relation is trust whether it's work, friends or a wife. When that trust is broken , no matter how great the wronged person is, paranoia sets in. He would always live with the specter of her cheating again. He would
act differently to the least little thing. A friend could say something innocent yet the husband would read something else in it in the back of his mind. It might not be in the fore but it would still be there and affect realtionships. No the best thing to do is to divorce. If the ex wants some cock then let him give it to her. It's much better than a whore which is what he would treat her like...WHICH SHE IS

Some people can understand someone who has a fear of heights. They can understand someone with a fear of water, bugs, or even the fear of flying. But when someone totally rips their heart out, they can't understand the fear of not letting themselves ever be hurt by that person again

It's the same type of fear, and like those I mentioned, not everyone understands or accepts someone elses fears, but they should at least respect the fears of the other person, and your story made it easier to understand why one person might develop a fear they really don't want to ever experience again. Like where one person who almost drowned having a fear of water, where someone else might being willing to jump in the water again.

As the comments reflect, 99.9% of us appreciate a non-malicious - non-extreme rendering of some form of justice in what happens millions of times a year here in the US.

Very Rarely is the spouse happily pimping his whore - very rarely is he a doormat to her intended male humiliation - very rarely does he seek self demeaning humiliation. All those aforementioned sick fetishes are very uncomfortable to 99.9% of us - there is no arousal.

I've waited for another of your great stories, and you did not disappoint. Although Janice wasn't happy with the outcome, I feel she got more than she deserved with Jeff's offer of friendship "with benefits". A one time slip could possibly be forgiven, but not a longstanding affair. An affair presumes an emotional attachment, and that would be hard for any man to forgive. He has finally manaqed to overcome his undeserved feelings of inadequacy. Why would he place himself in a position to suffer that again. Another excellent story.Was the wife being totally manipulative, totally genuine or a combination of both with her attempts at getting the husband back? I think that if the story had continued, the wife would have withdrawn from the husband because of his rejection of her. She had a plan of getting him back which he didn't follow. I think that a "friend with benifits" arrangement wasn't what she would settle for after all.The husband's trust issues certainly are understandable.

I find his lack of trust in his ex-wife utterly convincing. He may still love her, desire her, and appreciate her--but he recognizes that he just doesn't trust her anymore, and for very good reasons. You don't simply forget the woman in your life cheating on you for months...not even a week of a great vacation and lots of sex will make those feelings go away.

This was good but seemed darker than some of your other works. I did liked that the husband ended up making out better than his ex, and she learned what she lost. I thought it was a good look at how they would not have trust and their interaction would be affected forever. Thank you for your time and words.

Another excellent story by HDK.

One of the things I really enjoy about HDK is the way his stories are brief and to the point. He does not need to repeat and repeat the same thing; he gets the same information to the reader of his stories that many other authors provide in stories twice as long. The fact that I agree with his point of view most of the time (i.e., I would hope to act pretty similarly to his main male character if faced with the same situation) certainly does not hurt, either. HDK also manages to put some wit and humor into his stories, adding to the reader's overall enjoyment. Now sometimes the humor is sarcasm; obviously, infidelity and breakup of a marriage is not funny. But he does it in such a way that it really works in his stories. Thank you for another good read and please keep writing.

The right response to a bad situation!

Many of the reconciliation-at-all-costs confuse forgiveness with absolution with regards to the injured party. Cheating is a betrayal of basic values. If Jeff did not deeply value fidelity in his marriage then Janice's actions could be noted as just bad judgement (she did carry on with his best friend). When the spouse's action causes you to not trust her or him the relationship is toast.

A defining Loving Wives Story

This story was so ‘on message’ that near the end I completely identified with the husband. I too was wondering if his ex were sneaking off to visit someone during her supposed trip to the salon.

By the last 3 sentences I felt that the ex-wife was beginning to understand the true cost of her adultery. How sad it is to never again be trusted by one you love.

P.S: If titles are important, this one was a perfect fit for the story

The most a-typical of your stories

If someone asked me what is the most characteristic quality of your stories I'd say the surprise and the art in the narrative which builds and enables it. It's not a pre condition for a good story of course. Sometimes you can see certain development coming and still enjoy it very much. But here there was not even that much of development to speak of. We start with post divorce and end in post divorce. It's the same disillusionment on the ex-husband part and the same regret on the ex-wife's part. Her one effort to change things did not stir things up enough (as evidenced in the ending). I can't believe I would say that (coming from someone who considers you as pretty much at the top of a very short of the writers list here) but there was not much of a story here, and no I most likely CAN’T write like HDK. But I do not despair. even the best (as I still consider you of course) have the relatively weaker works, and even here the narrative was a pleasure to read per each paragraph. Can't wait for your next story.

So glad you didn't wimp out and arrange a reconciliation. Janice's betrayal was too deep. The lies necessary to keep the affair going, the lack of loyalty. The ending was spot on: the trust is gone and beyond recall.

I always enjoy your stories and this was no exception. As a typical minority opinion, I find husband fortunate that wife was cheating, otherwise he would be in big trouble since the only thing he actually saw was his wife having dinner with his best friend before he broke best friends jaw. If their meal was innocent husband would be in jail for assault and battery. Don't mind me. I'm a nitpicker by nature.
