Why the wait?
I sure didn't wait a MONTH before using my equipment again. Hell, I even went back to work after the surgery.
Sedate
Wait time to resume sex depends - you could use a condom immediately. But my doctor wanted a second ejaculate sample in two weeks, to confirm lack of sperm in it. He got it, there was none. So I felt like I now had a racy sports car instead of a sedate sedan. My wife appreciated it too.
A month? Medically, that's an odd time span
I was back on my bicycle (as transportation) within days of the "snip". No need to wait a full month for fear of bouncing those "bits" around in any way.
As for actually relying on this as a replacement for other birth control, that was more like four months - so snipped mid-October, got the "semen analysis post-vasectomy" lab results through my general surgeon in time for Valentine's Day.
I see no medical reason why this didn't end in a 69 in the first few days post-op.
