There are some images in this poem that sweep me away to the water's edge in spite of the far too prosey feel of the opening. I reread and found more, this is a verse that keeps on giving. Thanks for sharing.

Today is raining elsewhere

I agree with champagne, however, I kind of liked the lilting story feel; it added to the mood, intensifying the image for me. Nice. I enjoyed, thank you.

Very solid vivid imagery. Also concur with champagne's thoughts on the somewhat prosey opening; it slows down the development, but is a small point.
