These short pieces you write are quite strong. I say that for one reason. You open with the action. The longer stories you write suffer from too much info dump at the beginning.

And that is a common problem a lot of writers have, but your short pieces have great openings. I recommend diving right into the action on your longer work, same as you do here, then after the reader is hooked, give the background and extra information and things like that.
