It is a goood continuation and filler chapter but not as good as the others.

giving us a chance to get to know them and Derek getting drunk was kind of funny....I think he already loves Vivian. And I really like Annie and Pete...it's nice to think that as awful as life was for the poor then, someone took pity on a girl in trouble.

I like that despite their situations and pasts, these characters have someone believing in them. Also, Pete and Annie would make a sweet couple. Looking forward to the next chapter.

I, really, like this story. The way he, and now she, is giving all of these people a second chance at life. Are you going to write Pete & Annie's story? Is her baby for Lord Garner? Will he come looking for her, as well?

Very Nicely Done
i disagree with this being a filler chapter. it served it's purpose, we know how Derek got out of prison (Lerner and the Bow Street Runners), we have a lady's maid who may or may not end up with Pete (wonderful little side story), and we see Vivians willingness to make her marriage and household work and to understand her new husband. i quite enjoyed this chapter
