good story

I like the story. Only thing missing was what happens to Mark Dreesen. In the previous chapter it was mention that he was going to be taking care of.

formulaic cliche shallow drivel

Is anyone REALLY rooting for BILL? if so WHY? he comes across as a mindless idiot. How is BILL a Cautious man? CONSIDER.

ZENA cheated on him in many ways... she entered into the relationship with BILL even though she w as in a sexual LONG term Lesbian relationship with another woman ...NEVER told him.... Never even thought about telling him... yet wanted to Marry him!!! So what did BILL do? he THANKED her at the end of chapter 9.

Marion has an affair with a 24 year old for 4 months... Admits that she INTENTIONALLY went after the 24 y.o... shits all over BILL's as man and his Performance in bed... gives herslf to Mark in ways she has for years denied BILL... admits to fucking Mark over 30 times. So what does Bill do?

Says ....unbeleiveably...that Marion is a VICTIM!!!Marion sees the local pastor for a total of 5 times. Golly.

Then 10+ years later Marion cheats again and once again BILL has No clue. His teenage kids tell him. And everyone else seems to know right away that Marion is cheating again before Bill gets the chance to say exactly whats wrong.

A cautious man? HUH? where? Not in THIS story

Why Bill??

He has gotten everything right in business, being a nice employer and fatherhood. He is theoretically great at sex but the loved ones have to cheat on him. Sounds as if the author has a sour view of the universe!

gatorhermitgatorhermitalmost 16 years ago
Well written story

Very plausible explanation of Marion's motivation and actions, in fact, one of the best narratives of any of this type of story. I disagree with Harry about taking up with Zena again - why not do that - 20 years have passed and people change. Good story C2. I would like another chapter with an epilogue as to what happens ultimately with Marion.

Mistitled Story

This story is clearly mistitled: How's about "The Repeatedly Careless Dolt," or "The Man Every Woman He Loved Thought was a Fool." So, now the story is moving in the direction of the protagonist getting back together with the woman who left him once for another woman? So much for suspension of disbelief!

nonsensical story about a semi-retarded man

if you are going to write about retarded characters, make sure you study masters like John Steinbeck.

at least read his OF MICE AND MEN. this is a story about simpleminded men who wanted simply things --- just a little garden to grow vegies to feed the rabbits; a little place to raise some chicken for eggs, etc. but in the process of going about trying to achieve such a simple dream the hapless brothers, George and Lennie, accidentally killed purty whore-types, etc.

we, the READERS, have sympathy for such characters, despite their faults, simplemindedness, etc.

not this "cautious man" protagonist here ---- this is an unlikeable idiot, licking one spot of women saliva to another, never quite knowing why he did it and never knowing that he should stand up, straighten his backbone, and walk like a be-pedal creature.....

the picture of this character --- the author's argument notwithstanding --- is that of a complete simple-minded moron not at all interesting, not at all loving or loveable.

any doubt about that is all gone when the AUTHOR had him walk up to some lesbian (who preferred her girl to HIM) and have him wonder outloud whether HE OUGHT TO HAVE STAYED with her and her woman lover[s], even though the latter was #1 and he's like a shoe-shine, toe-licking, RETARDED and SUBMISSIVE boy;

and he IS NOW begging the lesbian that "it is not too late" (now that his ex wife has shit in his coffee too many times! AND the lesbian woman's true loved had died of cancer); that they could pick up where they left off some 20 years ago!

what a fuckin' retard for a character; but, oh, those two kids of his and his equally retarded whorish ex wife!, boy, aren't they smart! LOL

Ok so now he is an idiot

Bill is not only a cuckold but now you bring back the other woman who betrayed him and he wants her back? You sure know how to take a strong character and turn him into a weak wimp. She cheated on him!!!! His wife cheated on him!!!! Twice!!! what does it take to wake him up to the fact that his choice in woman is bad? This story is going downhill fast.

this is what happens

to a forgiving man who let other stupid people convince him of doing stupid things that defies logic and common scene, his wife cheated once and the pastor convinced him to take her back and she felt deep inside that he is a man to be disrespected so she cheated again and even became proud of it, how stupid

On the verge of being rude and crass; FUCK YOU TO THE NAY SAYERS.

Here is a good man, just because he is not wild and does not fuck around all the time, you condemn him, call him all sorts of impolite names etc. A good man who works hard and tries to live a good life. He is shown to be a much better man that I was, probably. Thank you to the author for writing this good, romantic and heart-warming story. And, yes, I know it is just a story, I cannot accept the reactions of some of these imbeciles. Good job, Coaster2.

Have a heart, folks!

coaster2, I like your writing style and the quality of how well you imagineered the plotline for this story.

Bfreetorun, I agree with your assessment of the troll commentators. Their infantile tirades against fictional characters, in fictional situations, clearly demonstrate the trolls lack of maturity and emotional depth.

As for the criticism of Bill reestablishing a relationship with Zena. The objection that she had betrayed Bill is factitious and facetious.. They had not made a legal or religious commitment to one another. If anybody was being betrayed by Zena, it was Maureen, with whom she'd had a long-term commitment.

I'm sorry little boys, I hate to break this to you so publicly but when your Momma told you that your little wee-wee is the center of the universe, she lied. Get over it!

KarenEKarenEover 9 years ago
LOL, Marion!

"'You realize of course, that I will get half of everything and probably the children.' It was now a more cold-blooded Marion speaking."

"Marion could see her carefully crafted plan dissolving before her. "I didn't realize you hated me this much," she finally managed."

So, she's cold-bloodedly planning on taking half of everything despite HER cheating, but when he demolishes her plans, she complains about HIM hating HER?

BTW, kudos on sheltering the company, but why not have a post-nup after the first affair?

KarenEKarenEabout 9 years ago
Re-Reading

I disagree with those who criticize him for re-starting his relationship with Zena.

First, she didn't LEAVE him for another woman, she was already involved with Maureen when she met him.

Second, she DID love him, she just couldn't/wouldn't give up Maureen for him, and now there is nobody else in either of their lives, and they still have feelings for each other, so why not?

seems to be talking about someone other than the main chracter

Mixed emotions re Zena

She was already in a relationship when she first met Bill, so basically deceived him and then cheated on him. Not sure if that wasn't worse than what Marion did.

So as well as a wimp and a cuckold he was a hypocrite with double standards. Still enjoying the well written story though. 5*

Precognition

I was thinking about some comments by KarenE several chapters concerning Marion's snobbishness and selfishness causing problems sooner or later.

Looks like she was right!

male intuition?

Recent research has found that men are better at detecting when their spouse is cheating than women are.

With this being the second time he would be more sensitive to the subtle clues.

Tw0Cr0wsTw0Cr0wsover 8 years ago
less of a problem

I have less of a problem with Bill forgiving Zena since she was in the relationship with Maureen first, and would have had some justifiable fear over telling Bill about her.

Fear of losing him, still the only man she has ever loved and one of only two people she has ever loved.

Same sex love in a small town decades ago?

Think about the attitudes about that way back when.

sbrooks103xsbrooks103xalmost 8 years ago
Re-Reading

Okay, the first time she at least had the excuse of feeling older and less desirable, as much as I didn't buy it!

But supposedly she was contrite, and ashamed and had counseling to deal with it.

I don't know how much of a threat the kids are in any case! Lexi's just about off to college, and Junior is only 2 years younger! LOL, he said the same thing!

Bill MAY not be an "important" man in the community, though I'm sure he's as important as he cares to be! But I wasn't aware that there was any question about his skill as a lover, and he is also the president AND owner of his own company! And she's assuming that Douglas' wife won't take half of everything HE has!

"Why should I care? I'm still getting a divorce," - How did she change so much in five years? I realize that she's always been a snob, but before she would have cut off her left arm to avoid a divorce. Is Dougie's "importance" THAT special?

"you and Bingham together in our bed" - With the other asshole just the THOUGHT of doing it in their HOUSE was unthinkable, now she does it in their BED?!

"I can live without the children." - LOL, "Mother of the Year"!

"What about me?" - Selfish to the end!

"She saw that as a deliberate attempt to take what was rightfully hers in the settlement" - Actually, no, it was am attempt to take what was hers in A settlement, which wouldn't have mattered if she didn't cheat again! She MIGHT have had a case if he did it just now, but he did it five years ago, when for all he knew they would be together the rest of their lives.

I'm with those okay with him and Zena. She never actually cheated on him. She WAS less than honest not telling him about Maureen when they first got serious, but she WAS honorable in refusing to drop her long-time lover for him.

I disagree with Anonymous 09/04/15 calling him a wimp, cuckold and hypocrite. While some may see his reconciliation as wimpy and cuck, he did love her, there were kids involved, and she seemed truly contrite, if that is wimpy and cuck, so be it, As far as being a hypocrite, I don't see it - he had no knowledge of her prior relationship. Yes, I guess he would have "taken" Zena if she would have given up Maureen, but he never pursued her knowing that she was already in a relationship.

I think he needs to visit Pastor Dave (Mark) again

To jump from one failed marriage to another, and with a woman who openly had a 2nd partner, makes no sense.

I wish he could be a bit more animated. He is so monochromatic he reminds me of Forrest Gump.

once a cheater...

That's what happens when you're a wimp and don't make her and her lover suffer the consequences of her actions. She never worked on her issues. She never saw a real therapist. After a while, she felt free to start again with her cheating. Her love and respect for her husband died the died she cheated for the forst time and showed no remorse at all. I'm glad at least it didnt lead to a RAAC

WONDERFUL STORY. GOOD TITLE.

After his marriage to Marion broke up, even before he and Junior went to the Ford dealer, I wondered if maybe he would have been better off had he stuck with Zena. Her love for him seemed purer/truer -- although it was a divided love. Back when he and Zena fell apart, I wondered if it could have continued if Bill was included with both women (not something I would countenance IRL, but in Literotica....). But I think Bill was too good and moral of a man to go along with that. Maybe even allowing wife to have a lesbian lover would stretch Bill's morals. Zena. His first love. Back. I feel better now. And hopeful. A great guy like Bill deserves...

I do not think Marion has changed since coaster2 introduced her. She may have evolved and/or shown herself more, but she has been an opportunist (moreso than a lover) from the beginning -- as shown by the way she did/did not make friends.

There are very, very few really great Literotica series. This is in the elite ranks.

So far.

Does the author hate bill or what

Poor guy keeps getting shit on by every woman he's been with. I hated the previous chapter because he pretty much let her get away with being a whore and instead of being remorseful, she turns even more evil in this chapter, which I hate even more then the previous one because the author decides to bring in one of the ex whores as his new love interest, seriously? Wont be finishing this series...

TreymonTreymonover 3 years ago

LOL from a cheating monster to a woman who made him her planb. Cool concept. You would think a cautious man would be to cautious to start something like that.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 3 years ago
Wow

Who didn't see this coming after the previous chapter? What did he expect when he let her off so easily the first time she cheated with no punishment. Of course she was going to lose respect for him and think she could just do it again. And his reaction after confronting her again was pretty much the same as the first, not much of one. At least you let him leave her but I feel like she still won. No remorse for her actions and she was happy she hurt him. The only time she was hurt by her actions was when she learnt her lover was betraying her. You've ruined Bills character and this story.

Hiram325Hiram325over 1 year ago

Ok, I was wrong when I commented after the last chapter that I wasn't going to finish this story. . Obviously, he should've cut his losses with Marion the first time, but he was suitably ruthless the second time. Finishing this story now.

Again, hard to believe that the character developed in the first doesn’t chapters would forget the betrayal and consider trusting someone like Xena
