show, don't tell

Instead of telling readers your emotions, like "I'm sad. I'm angry." show them. Show your readers by using concrete imagery. Give them details. Show anger, for example, by writing about how you threw a figurine against the wall and broke it. Maybe it was a gift from someone who hurt you. This shows the reader that you're angry and hurt.

Powerful Poem

Though it is a sensitive subject, I think you accurately expressed some of the feelings associated with rape. This poem is mentioned in today's New Poem Review in the Poetry Feedback & Discussion Forum. Thanks for the read!
