Is not "a brief affair". An affair has little to do with sex. Sex outside of marriage is cheating, but might not be called an affair. People can have an affair that lasts years, while never having sex, but are still cheating.That day may have been the first time for the sex, however, the term 'affair' refers to an ongoing emotional attachment, which she participated in for over a year. So, not a 'brief' affair, but a long lasting, and intentional betrayal of her husband and children.

Why did it take her having sex with someone else for hubby to file for divorce? With the way she was treating him, and their kids, for well over a year, a divorce was WELL warranted long before she went to that motel!
I hate the idea that a person MUST try to remain married, no matter how bad it is, as long as no one fucks around. I see nothing about alienation of affection law suit or a law suit against the law firm she worked for . I don't know the term for it, but many companies frown on or have rules against employee fraternization. Cheers!

...Check the dictionary. When you have minor children, an affair doesn't just rape your spouse. It rapes the kids as well. It is for this reason that I favor courts totally stripping from the guilty spouse ALL visitation rights and privileges.

Be a "Man"

The wife became obsessive about her outside job to the point she looses all rational focus. The husband needed to step up earlier. There is no value becoming a victim. Kick some ass, shake things up, raise hell. Get her so so uncomfortable she changes her behavior or leaves. If there is going to be a divorce in the end drive the process. Be a "MAN"! Why do authors allways think that kids forgive the cheating more or less easely in time ? i personally know a few kids ( now grownups ) who don't even speak to the cheater male or female not even after more than 20 years

I am not one to condone cheating, but a man who beats a woman for any reason is a low down, slimy fucking piece of shit. I figure it was just hyperbole on your part, because you went on to claim you cut off someone's dick and got away with it. Since that rarely actually happens and most jurisdictions tend to frown on it, I can only assume it's as made up as the rest of your little anecdote.

Seriously though, you should seek help if you did put hands on a woman. Most men would be more than willing to put the boots to you, medium style, for making the rest of us look like fucking neanderthals.

Still a good story and well written goes without saying. I commented before that I couldn't see anyone taking her back, and he didn't. As for stepping up and being a man like someone suggested I would guess this poster never had a real bitch in pure form to deal with. There is no talking to her and no reasoning with her and if you want to die, then you give her an ultimatum. This woman was mean and stupid. Reminds me of that joke: man sees a woman and thinks, I'd like to fuck her brains out. Then when he talks to her for awhile he realizes that someone beat him to it.
