I first thought there would be more to it like gaining control of the wife to get him to look the other way when they try to defraud the DWP by having her adding fictious beneficiaries to the pension pay outs. But there's already a similar story somewhere on Lit. Then maybe, it could be some grudge/revenge from his former military "buddies". But he seemed to be liked by most of them. In any case, this very professional setup and psychological manipulation implies that whoever did this are not just amateurs looking for some kiny sex or domination. It should have raised questions with these other professionals and secret service guys, but somehow that aspect hasn't been tackled. It doesn't explain, however, why she called that number out of her own free will. So, most likely she wan't targeted specifically. Yet, being brought to SAS country ? ... We will just have to wait to find out. *** As for his character, don't many of the husbands when cheated upon try to find answers for the why by examining their own behaviour like working too late/much, not enough attention, etc... Being in love with the wife can put you in denial, suspecting something's wrong but not preapared to accept it until it bites you in the butt. Hypnotized and drugged can be factors to influence his judgement/attitude but, and some others pointed that out already, she went for it all by herself by taking that first step. I find it a well written and entertaining story. Staying together or splitting up after all, ... it's just a story after all and each of use would react in his/her own way.
Nice story. The technical detail and the intricate chase is obviously not to the liking of some, but I enjoyed it. I am amazed that some feel the husband is not 'manly' or some such crap because he gets pros involved rather than blundering around himself.
Hypnosis is a fascinating subject, and mysterious even to professionals, so it makes a good device. Still, Beth seems perfectly well aware of what she did, and is not really bothered by it or aware that it is out of character. Very Manchurian Candidate.

The story continues
The author is very good at handling the coordinated activities of about a half dozen colleagues and friends of his. Much of the story has to do with details of a military nature while in this current chapter, more specifically, the tracking of an auto via many roads and highways through England. I do agree with some comments posted here that everything that is mentioned like, e.g.,the 'lipstick' isn't documented enough to be understandable. But all in all the story is very good. RAG
I lost interest, and stopped reading, the minute that I realized this was another case of taking back a demented whore wife and reconciliation at all costs.
I also think the story was deliberately mis-classified in order to entice those who like to read the LW genre. It should have been classified as BDSM.

Premise too far fetched
Interesting story with a fine description of miltary coordination in following the bad guys, but I just can't get past the unbelievable premise that wife can disappear without notice of any kind for ten days with note saying she is going to emergency training course, then does not communicate in any way during that period. He checks with her corp. and is told she is not at traning but is on leave of absence that she requested weeks ago. When she finally returns home he does not question her at all about her lies.In a normal corporation when she returned to work someone would tell her husband had checked and found out about phoney nonexistant traing course, yet she and her husband just go on like nothing had happened after her return. He asks nothing, she tells nothing --Whole thing is unbelievable and farfetched.You write well but the story is scince fiction.

I myself have been curious how Matt's meeting with his wife's HR would be revealed but nothing so far.
I will note a couple of items here, lest I forget to mention them at the end. 1. When will learn about Beth's computer? How did she virtually hide the info re this one site? 2. Matt has made it clear that he will take Beth back because of the drugs and hypnotism, but he apparently has not thought through what she did in the first place. She clearly planned the ten-day "training" session. She did that without drugs or hypnosis. What did she think would happen to her during that time? The author needs to address this or any reconciliation ending will be weak.
if you re[read the proceeding chapters just a little more closely you could answer your own questions.
The virus surreptitiously downloaded from the porn site to the home computer set up the password system, wiped the key files, etc.
Someone who is already conditioned, since childhood, to be a submissive would have no resistance to obeying a dominant personality.
Especially if their subconscious was being manipulated by a combination of hypnosis, hypnotic drugs and torture.
And before you go making any boasts about how you would never succumb.
I remember reading about an American agent who was captured and tortured for months before gaining his release.
He never broke, he never gave up the information his captors demanded. Eventually he was cleared again for field work.
A few years later he was captured a second time. And this time he cracked immediately and gave up every bit of information he had.
Afterwords he admitted that as soon as he was taken. memories of that first series of torture triggered him into surrendering his will to the second set of captors.
Even when we manage to consciously suppress evil memories. We are powerless to control either our subconscious or how our body's nervous system (reflexes are memories) reacts to pain and suffering.
