Just a bit too convenient

that he had a wife replacement awaiting his act of divorce. This does not fit the character of the man who expressed his love for his wife throughout. You invented the man Mr Celt so you should have been consistent to your creation.
OK, you destroyed the cheating wife. Wronged husbands don't just move on like changing buses. If they do it's because they didn't care over much, which would make the story ineffectual.

HA

A cheating whore skank wife gets what she deserves. Obviously Ty had much more money in his retirement to worry about what he left for the slut. So she got the house and money, she lost the life she knew.
He was able to get his revenge while she was still alive. I wish I had that luxury.

All cheaters should die.

Huedogg,

The wife got all the money left in the USA. Most was in other countries with no reciprocal banking agreements with the USA. In a divorce, she could at most sue for what was left in the USA unless she found the other monies and could get standing in those countries' courts to sue for the rest. Expensive. As a symbolic way of throwing her away, I can't think of better. Cheap at twice the price.

a comment by "robinhod" you should always have a replacement ready for a white American wife nowadays because they cheat have no honor and are a dime a dozen,if you disagree check the stats on marriage and white American women that's all of north America not just USA,so putting it in a story is just plain sense.

consequences for whom?

She is relatively well reasonably attractive fairly young white and free. What consequences? She is rid of a husband she didn't respect or love despite what she may claim. The only person to suffer any consequences was the husband. He was deprived of the woman he loved and the life he had planned. Like all the men in the celt's stories the cheating wife walks away the big winner. Of course the MMs of the world lap this crap up like the creampies they love so much.

@ oneshotone

One assumes she has a social life. All her friends know she is divorced and her hubby probably let the reasons be known. Certainly the social accountants at his going away party can add 2+2 and get Infidelity.

She used to have the House Beautiful. Now she's in a shack which can barely hold her clothes. Her kids dislike her. And she has a barrel of money. The thing with barrels is they go empty. She will blame her sister to some degree for the divorce, so there is some more fall out.

BUT...you have missed the target but hit the tree by blaming this on thecelt. Men are dogs. Men all think that they are better than the guy she left or cheated on. So she will seek someone else and the idiot accept her. She will find a measure of happiness. But that flush of early love, the giddy emotions she had as a teenager are gone. This marriage will seem a little dimmer. Her choice of dancers will be FAR more limited. The best guys are and remain married. Those who are divorced through no fault of their own (since they had wives like Bridget) will ask uncomfortable questions, having been burned once. She can find A man...but not a man she prefers.

Sometimes the girls win. I bet you get pissed that girls can cage free drinks at the bar too...Are you going to blame thecelt for that too?

Back Again!

This was a very good story. Not the Best but very good. The thing that I would like to point out is that this was the last post of a fine contributor. I hope he like many other fine writers just got tired of listening to our comments.

What consequences?

She has a house that's paid for and furnished. She is going to receive a large amount of money from the sale of her big house and she has the funds from the other accounts. She is about to be divorced from a man she obviously didn't respect AND she now is free to sleep with who ever she wants. Where's the consequences?
Sorry - I just don't get it. This particular story failed to deliver consequences in my view.

Overthefalls

The consequences are that she lost the man that, despite what her actions may indicate, she loved.

Her kids want nothing to do with her, and she has lost the life that she wanted to keep.

You may not feel that she suffered enough, but that doesn't mean she suffered no consequences.

Great Story!

Like your writing, liked this story, liked the outcome. However, I have a hard time believing that the wife is so broken up. She had not 1 but 2 lovers, this was going on for 6 months, she had not had sex with her husband-that she loves soooo much-in 6 months, she began disrespecting for those 6 months, but now she all broken up when he leaves her??? How could she love her husband and then do what she had been doing? I think the word love is overused in these stories, you just don't do these things when you really love someone. This was not a one-time mistake or slip. This went on for 6 months with the accompanying lying and deception. That is not love! I think she loved the money, security, and stability that the husband gave her. I don't think that she will upset for long, she has her looks, a lot of money and her own house. The only thing she lost is her husband and her children. She will bounce back in a relatively short time. She just doesn't realize that now she can whore around all she wants. Not enough consequences for the wife.

best BTB

Your Consequences series is the best of all the "BTB" genre I have read. This one is especially good. There's no melodramatics or hysterics: Ty found she was cheating, took his revenge, and squashed her like a bug. Okay, not really. He made sure she was taken care of, but I'm sure you know what I meant. What a good read!

Enjoyed it

I know that these comments are way after you've finished writing, but I thought I'd leave them anyway. I enjoyed this story a great deal as it closely mirrored the similar way my cousin's marriage fell apart & how she dealt with his cheating. The only major difference is that she did not have someone to accompany her on the overseas trip she took.
I'm truly sorry we won't have the pleasure of reading any further works from you as I think you've grown to be 1 of the best authors on this site. 4****
Just a small aside to the nitwit who complained that " thecelt '' stories were just repeats of many other writers, please get real, life only has so many options & writers are all limited to those so the real art is how the author perceives, establishes & creates his plot from that bucket. That is the real art.

Meh

How cruel a punishment...If you're 8 months old. Oh no, mommy is gone away, and I'm all alone!
More like a reward. How is him leaving her, yet giving her everything else a punishment?
These type of stories never work, because they aren't realistic, and don't follow human nature. A person that can blithely cheat with 2 other people, for that long, without a thought for their family, wouldn't suddenly fall into a stupor, or break down in tears, bemoaning the loss of 'The only person I'll ever love', because the only person they will ever love is themselves. Despite what the authors write here, we are NOT all 2 people in one! You cannot love someone, and treat them with contempt and disrespect. The two are mutually exclusive.
So write her as one or the other, not both! Either she 'Loves him and no other', in which case, she doesn't cheat, or write her as a cheating bitch that hates him. She cannot do both, no one can. She can claim that she loves him, in the story, as a means to remain married to his wealth, but don't patronize us by writing that 'She really did love him, and now her life is over', because that is simply retarded. If she truly loved him enough to have the idiotic reaction that you wrote, then she would never in a million years cheat, hence, no story.

What I guess I'm trying to say

Is that I don't enjoy stories that flip flop between "She a slut for others, but not for hubby" to "She becomes a celibate nun that shuns the whole world out of grief and heartbreak when hubby leaves". They always leave a bad taste, because the reactions are too contradictory to be believable.
That's the point I'm struggling to make. All literature requires the reader to suspend belief, and a story isn't successful if it fails to do that. If the characters aren't true to their own actions, then we cannot believe in them, therefore, we may as well be reading a washing machine manual, for all the enjoyment we get from it!

She was invincible, and then she wasn't....

I don't understand the theme that frequently runs through these stories when caught, the betrayer claims that the wronged spouse was the only one she/he ever loved. What nonsense. That love was assassinated when the intent to cheat became real.

The writing is good, better than good, as is true in most of thecelt's stories. I never understand why the wronged husband continues to let things go on for days, weeks, or months, but that's me. It just compounds the transgression and the heartache.

In this case the remorse show was for being caught not for the relationship lost. The sister and good ole mom may have influenced but the wife bears all of the responsibility.

Now the wife has lost the man she hated enough to deceive and cuckold. She was treated much better than she deserved. Too bad, so sad, get used to it.

Not bad but a bugger

In a contested divorce, power of attorney does not help if the defendant's lawyer subpoenas the husband. At least in the US. Then if he doesn't appear....

Btw, yes. She's was a extremely deluded and idiotic bitch.

Consequences - The Middle Way

So she cheated? Boo Hoo. Every damn day horrible things happen to millions of people. Most of those things are a heel of a lot worse than finding out your wife is a piece of shit. So, now you know you can take comfort in the fact that you are in the company of 30%-50% of the population that has had their marriage ruined by a shithead. Still, you are in the majority of people who have a shitty marriage in general. With 50% of the population getting divorced and at least another 25% stuck in hateful marriages your odds were never good from the start!
Okay, so being betrayed hurts. We all get that, we all have been betrayed in one way or another. It is a common experience. Being knocked down by betrayal does not define you. It is how fast you get up and move that defines you. It is whether you stay and continue a relationship with a horrible person and continue the betrayal that defines you. It is whether you continue the relationship if only to roll around fighting with them that defines you. It is whether you choose to learn from your mistake of marrying a selfish piece of shit, separate yourself from them forever and find better people to populate your life with in the future, that defines you!
Life is a matter of time. The clock is always running. How much time we have is unknown. We all have right now. Do you want to be happy or sad? That is your choice. Staying with a cheater will make you sad. Fighting with a cheater will make you sad because you are in effect still staying with a cheater. Moving on, getting stronger, and finding a better life will make you happy.

Here lifestyle won't drop a bit

Just because he moved millions overseas doesn't mean she won't get half of it. If he tried to hide it from the divorce court, a pissed off judge will give her most of it. If he didn't pay taxes on it, well that's tax evasion, the crime they put Al Capone away for. A simple subpoena to the law firm will reveal every penny that the law firm ever paid him. If there's ten or fifteen million unaccounted for, he'll have to tell the court where it is or go to jail and then have the irs on his ass when he gets out. One way or another she'll end up a very wealthy divorcee with plenty of men willing to comfort her in her time of need.

Thoughts

“she would talk to her doctor about it when she had her next checkup.” – Presumably he knew when her next check-up was. Why didn’t he bring it up then?

“She loves you so much that this will kill her.” – LOL! She loves him SO much, but she doesn’t fuck HIM, but fucks TWO old lovers!

“I said as much to Bianca but she just laughed at me” – Funny how Bianca can laugh at Bridget wanting to go home to her husband, then is frantic that Bridget’s husband is dumping her!

“It would revive me and I would carry that back to my marriage bed with my husband.” – Even IF you wanted to buy this argument, it obviously wasn’t working because her marriage bed was still dead. LOL, she said as much herself!

I know this is a few years after the fact, by I had to respond:

You would have a point if everything was sudden, but he's had MONTHS to prepare for this, including finding a replacement!

I would suggest that you re-read the parts about them having separate accounts. His business accounts, retainer accounts, high risk investment accounts, and all that overseas and thus not subject to us tax laws. As such they can't be proven. The joint accounts he used to pay everything off. He did not leave her destitute in any way shape or form. Basically he is gone from the US not to return for many years. Let her find whoever she wants. He's gone and made no secret of why he left in the first place. He basically outed her as a cheater and a slut. She can blame it on whatever she cares to name as he no longer cares. His kids know the truth, and after that he doesn't care.

Go back and read the story with your brain awake. She ain't gittin' shit except what he wants to give her. Taxes, shmaxes, she can't touch anything of real value and the Feds can't touch it. You really need to learn how to interpret what you read.

Scum lawyer runs away.

No surprise there, the divorce was a forgone conclusion.
Have no sympathy for bottom feeding scum who run away like pussies.
Face the bitch and tell her it is over and be a man about it.
If it was real life the suicide option would have been the best one.

Well written.
