in virtually all cases, "no Jewish mother, no Jew" The Old Testament is clear on the fact that having a Jew for a mother makes you a Jew. However, since there are "converts", you are not 100% correct. I do agree that there is no such thing as a "half Jew". Only those still hell bent on insisting that Judaism is a nationality, like so many Americans think can believe someone is a half Jew.
