I love this poem, Triss. It so tidily summarizes me in an argument, those of us who aren't ever really fortunate enough with quick thinking and self-possession during those moments. The wording is tidy and brilliant. I love it so very much. Thank you for sharing.

Not much can be added once you've said, "Hers was the orderly way,/
the sharper point that/
pinned me to our arguments/
as I blustered through hopelessly/
bracing for her smug retreat." cuz then you're just kinda repeating the two positions. You've given us the concise lifetime of arguments. If you tag on some smug couplet about the limits of logic, you've got yourself a hot little epigram.
