That was very good story. 5 Stars.

The world is full of Donnas. They drain the life from you...it is always all about them and what they want and how soon you can give it to them. If you ever think it may be about you or "us", then you are sadly mistaken and being manipulated.

You are a back up man and that you and "us" talk is to keep you in line.

I dated a few Donnas in my time....but not for very long. Dropped them pretty damn quick and never looked back.

very good, quick character study

It took 3 strikes for Donna to be out. He's lucky Babs kept hope alive throughout the Donna episodes. Ant life funny that way here on lit....

Clueless Protagonists

I read a comment on another story I read today. While I do enjoy the story telling, the general stupidity o the protagonist carries the tale. I've read three today and all three have dumbasses telling the story. I bitch but I still enjoyed them so I guess I like feeling superior to these characters or maybe I lived a lot of my life being that damn stupid too?

maybe the reason for the clueless protagonists is that at that age most of us were at least a little dense. I know I was, probably still am to a certain extent. And I agree that I enjoyed the story myself. I liked the line where the father got smarter the older the son got. After marrying and having kids I had a whole new outlook on my up bringing. Anyway, Donna was the shiny object that catches your eye and Barbara was the vein of gold he wasn't really looking for.
