What was with the big gap in the story?

At one point the wife seemed horrified that she had gotten high and cheated - wanting nothing to do with this Tim. Next thing we know she is screwing him and we get back history saying she was early in the marriage aswell. It didnt gell for me at all.

Would have been nice to see what happened after the divorce but not necessary as it tends to be all the same in this type of story anyway.

Nice story. You actually finished it, instead of ending it too soon like you do for most of your stories, and there was none of the cuckolding crap you sometimes do. But I agree with the below poster about there being a big disconnect between how she was acting most of the story, firmly and repeatedly turning Tim down, and the end. What happened there?! And then having it turn out she'd even fucked Tim years earlier while in their marriage is like out and out cheating, because if that were true, her friend would have known about it, since she knew so much else about her and Tim at that same period of time, and the husband would have found out about it while overhearing them talking. I'm all for surprise twists, but you can't alter the reality of what you had happen earlier in the story to deliver a surprise twist at the end.

This story needs to be Followed-Up. there are too many things left to settle .. like did Trisha get back with Lover Boy after being Released from the Hospital?

This was one of your better stories. I recently read an article explaining that women actually cheat as much as men, but they are much better at hiding it. This was probably the case for Tricia. My family also has a history of alcohol abuse as does my wife’s family. We decided not to ever drink because such behavior tends to be genetic. So at first, I could not understand why he would marry a pot-head, until you had her quit. That said, he was too credulous by giving her the go ahead to have a hit then not accompany her. That, and the sloppy seconds were the two areas that seemed out of character to me. I normally would have ranked this a 75% due to these inconsistencies, but gave you 100% to counter some of the thoughtless comments below. Thanks for writing. Oh, Harryin, the answers to your questions: 1) She quit smoking pot after that experience. 2) She told him that he didn’t own her while they were first dating, not when they were married. I actually thought that he handled it well. His strength changed her behavior. 3) & 4), I agree with you, they were weak points in this story. One last comment: Several commentators always trash these free stories. Why do you even bother to read them? If you don’t like JPB, skip his stories. -ttom

This is what I liked about this story:

It is not obvious to me why she let her take the dope again, but he compensated by giving her a get out of jail free card. Still he never should have agreed to letting her go out with Maggie again. He had to tell her what he knew, if he wanted to keep her. Her rationalization that he was not losing anything by her fucking Tim was a classic and did not keep him from administrating the consequences.

why do some of us keep reading JPB stories? First this story was issued / published about 2 yearsago. Since it was re-submitted I was hoping that JPB might have altered it in some way. He has been known to do that from time to time.

And...I'm not sure how plausible it is that he wouldn't have found out long before with how closely he was watching. The analogies you use rock. Most of the story was pretty boilerplate, but that doesn't mean they are bad.

Ending was too fast. Did he have the kids DNA tested? Did he get even with Maggie? Lots of unanswered questions. My solution would have only cost $2.78 plus tax. Then Maggie spoke. “The man who gave me the envelope and dropped me off had a message for you. ‘YOU ARE NEXT!’ is what he wanted me to tell you.”
Trisha got up and went upstairs. She had over three hundred pills that she had been hording away for just such a moment.
Grabbing a bottle of Jack she put the pills into an ashtray and looking at Maggie and said, “Some how I just don’t think the sex was all that good, all things considered.”
She and Maggie drank the jack, even had some pizza to help keep everything down, including all of the pills.
As she was passing out she saw Rob, her Rob. He smiled at her and said “Tim had a real bad accident today, and I don’t think they will actually find all of the pieces.” Then he turned and left, making sure to quietly close and lock the door to the house.
Maggie and Trisha were found three days later when the Rob came over before his children were do back and he did not want them to find her. He called the police and told them what he found.
They were buried two days later and Rob and his children lived well on the very large insurance policy he had taken out on Trisha when he first found out she was cheating. He met a nice woman and although they never married they lived together happily for the rest of their lives.
Hope I did not sugar coat it again.

How Come?

Why is it that all the men in these stories never suspect anything? Their wives are the town whores and they are the only ones that are clueless. They must also be friendless, because no one ever even sends them an anonymous letter. I have seen cheaters get busted with a phone call or a note. He knows what he's getting into when he married her so it should really come as no surprise that she's cheating. What bothers me is that he tells her she's a "cheap piece of trash" and that looking at her disgusts him. And he wants to leave his children with that cheap piece of trash?
