It is well written

and I enjoyed reading through it, even though JPB had
me really scared first when he did not react immediately and second when he moved into the closet. But he did not join in and he did not beat off or even get hard in the closet, and then kicked her out. I do not think that he had any thought about Stephanie as a new flame and just found an amusing way to say it would be cold day in Hell... I did not like that he accepted that Hal and Charlie and he would continue together. They are untrustworthy as is everyone else in his life....

Not one of my favorite JPB stories

I've read most of JPB stories. This wasn't on my top 20 list but thanks for the effort anyway. I really appreciate you writing so many stories. If I don't like them all, so what, I can just read another one.

Our hero Tim should watch out for Stephanie. She lied to him with a straight face by telling him that Heidi was a snob and that's why she did not like his friends. By omission, she misled Tim while all along, she knew his wife was cuckolding him. Were I Tim, I would steer clear of Stephanie -- I consider her an accessory in the crime. Thanks for writing.

Assuming that Tim is OK with sharing his wife why wouldn't there be some signs or indication that his friends know Tim's dark secret? So Tim is OK with his friends unknowingly fucking his wife for 9 months as she deprive him sexually? Tim did not love Heidi if he can blow her off so abruptly. Stephanie is a useless slut who can not even help her best friend (she is like a vulture waiting for the marriage to die). Basically, there are no likeable characters in this story and the relationship between Tim and his buds raise man love to a high artform.

Here is the problem

I am a big fan of JPB stories...at least in the genre's I like. His writing is always crisp, one thing follows another, this dialogue and characters sound 'real'...except.

Except when they are saying incredibly stupid things.

Now, I can see a woman rationalizing her 'bit on the side'. I can see her stating that she is 'farming out' some of hubby's sexual responsibilities, because he isn't black/hung/a different man etc. While immoral and hurtful, it isn't irrational.

Here...the wife is just plain stupid. Bob even has Stephanie admit this. Now...I get that people do incredibly stupid things. But as a writer, when that is the main motivation and it's totally contradictory, I as a reader don't buy it.

And his letting his friends get off scott free...doesn't work.
