Gave you five stars for the so not in the holiday spirit ending. Bold to do that with a holiday story. Hope she's having a bad dream or pregnant. What do you think?
It was a really good story until the ending. I'm like the other person who posted, please let it be a dream.
gave the story five stars but do hope there is a happy ending hee someplace
Loved it til the ending... Line of duty deaths for firefighters is NOTHING to take lightly...and I'm shocked anyone would ever put this in a story, especially on a site like this.
Too many friends of mine are firemen for me to take line-of-duty deaths lightly. This story was dedicated to the firefighter heroes who perished helping others, especially those on 9-11-2001 and the dedication got omitted, my bad. Had the story ended with 'it was all a dream' it would've cheated the reader; if it concluded with 'and they screwed happily ever after' that would've been unrealistic. In real life people die every day, a sad fact.
Although Melissa didn't want it to end this way, Darryl would not have had it any other.
upon reading that there was supposed to be a dedication i understand the story greatly and think it is one of the better ones i have seen more more more please
What the story means love doesn't always end with happily ever after. Even though we wish it did. I love it. At least she has a great memory of him.
This story actually made me cry. Life is never to be taken for granted.
