I have to say this left me in tears. I had friends who where in vietnam. And I am just a young retired squid. I loved the way you wrote the story and keep up the good work.

Old Memories Past

Finally, a Viet Nam story with a happy ending.

Too many good men paid an awful price in that sorry war and none paid a greater price than those that suffered and died in the NVA prison camps. The pain caused by that war still haunts the lives of so many, who lived it, yet must go on forever reliving it. God bless them all. As usual, you told us another beautiful love story. I don't see how anyone could criticize your writing. For my money, you are as good as any author on this site and there are none better than you. Thank you so much for all you do for us.

a diff/better story

as i began reading it i groaned inwardly, another corpsman story , but it turned out to be one of ur best works dude though a lil short but i wont complain about that
anyways since i wasnt alive back then i wanted to know whether they actualyy had porn stars in 66 or did u make that up with an artistic liscence

Good Tight Story Telling

I read your preface to this story and can imagine the why of how you told it. I think it really worked well and made the story very tight. Yes, the majority of your other stories are a different style and though your critic wasn't happy with them, I enjoyed the strong narrative as it draws you into the story even when you use the same general devices in multiple stories. ( I suspect you do them as exercises in first person narrative ) Speaking now of some of your other stories. I found your martial arts action sequences very strong as well as your inner dialogs. In general, your plot twists keep me guessing but as I got familiar with your writing, I was able to predict the death of a major charcter in one story. What I didn't predict was when it would happen and just when I thought it wouldn't, you killed off 3 characters!!! I'll probably end up buying at least one of your books especially if you will put out a kindle edtition. My house is overflowing as it is. Though you dislike Anonymous posts, I am so because I prefer to not leave a lot of internet foot prints around. I'm no one special so please take the things that I've said as a grain of salt and one unpublished person's opinion. Thank you for the stories and keep writing!!!

Vietnam was a nasty place

Yes I am a vet. Australian army. What a hell hole it was over there. When we came home we were spat at, called baby killers and far worse things you could imagine.
