What? People can't learn new things where you come from? If they were in Mexico, he'd be learning more spanish. I've done handyman work for Russian women who rely on either their American husbands or their children to do a large percent of the communication, but that hasn't stopped them from having a good marriage, or a functional life. Nice little romantic piece.

Mexican Laborers

Was raised in southwest and grew up in a medium sized sawmill town. Dad worked at the mill, was a supervisor of the largest crew, mostly Mexicans. Everybody on the Dad. There was not a harder working group of men who lived life to the fullest. These were families who had settled the area decades ago. When I say hard working, a good percentage worked on piece work scale hand stacking lumber to air dry.
The description of the people in this story remind me of them. The stories I could tell, a huge wonderful group of people. They were treated through-out the town, they were just members of the community. I miss the old folks and their wonderful charming ways.
