I think I can see some sadness and heartbreak coming, but I sure hope the story goes long enough for her to earn a happy ending.

I have a pretty extensive vocabulary but I'm glad to have Dictionary.com tab up when I read your stories. I'm not sure perfunctory was the best word for the last sentence though. I'm not sure he'd been sleeping at her place to establish a routine nor that he was the type to do anything superficially or with a lack of interest.

Just as she has come to understand his method of love making, I believe she's going to have a painful revelation that he's emotionally clueless.

Either that, or there really is revenge on tap...
