truth be told, I don't like sonnets, a sort of prejudice. Gave it 100, no real complaints, I did recommend.

Thanks for that. I like formal poetry in general but sonnets in particular because the form forces me to squeeze all my thoughts into the 14-line limitation and doesn't let me ramble on too long, which otherwise I would surely do. And the pentameter requirement ensures that the lines are long enough, so I have no excuses for not being able to say what I want to say. Thanks again for reading.
Pretty good sonnet.
The rhyme seems at little forced at times, and the overall subject is pretty straightforward, but Poet Guy finds this a worthy effort and certainly well above the usual poems found here, and particularly compared to the usual rhymed poems found here. Good effort.

However, I do like the way you brought it to its conclusion with the 3rd quatrain and following couplet. Nicely done.
