The Real Reason We Write . . .

Dear Jake,

I accidently stumbled on to your story and just now read it. I was not into it very far when tears began forming in my eyes, and shortly thereafter, were streaming down my cheeks. Being a reader and writer of a great many stories, I seldom find myself reacting like this. I suppose I have become jaded.

Your story today found me in a state of exhaustion and one of total disillusionment about many things, but especially about fantasy sites and the stories they offer. Thanks for reminding me that the real reason behind story telling is to touch the reader in a meaningful way.

I too am 66 and have often thought about my first love. I haven't been able to find her though. I don't want to try too hard as I am afraid she may not still be alive...

as one who has been married for almost 50 years i can understand his feelings of loss. i don't know what saddens me more the loss of my wife or the loss of my own life because of the grief the one left behind will feel. PLEASE WRITE AGAIN. thanks

Sorry but this fell flat

Like a number of your stories there seems to be a missing element. And I'll be damned if I can tell you what it is. The stories are well written, but they just don't create a spark of interest or allow for any empathy for your characters. This was another one that after I read it, I just asked myself the question, Why?

Valentines Day

my wife & I were married on Valentines day we were both 40 yrs old it was the best time of my life hers also. 45 days after our 27 th I lost her also . Valentines day has become just another day for me now, thanks for sharing this story

His Biography page lists him as over 60 in 2006. He has not posted anything since 2011.
Unfortunately the only way that we hear if someone has passed on is if a friend from Lit is aware of the writer and posts an obit, or notifies the mod. of their death.
