I loving this... you're putting all your pieces into place, and soon we will get to watch them fall into a pretty picture. I can't wait. When Rayne mentioned the vamp outside, I instantly assumed Gard but was so happy to see it as Freya. Two strong minded vamps against two strong minded wolves, gotta love that.

I don't think it's possible for me to go to bed at a reasonable time when I know your stories are about to post! Ah but it's such a good bedtime story. I just wish I could sleep afterwards lol. Especially now, snow and ice are yucky but nothing brightens the mood like a jazz story!

Yay, it *was* Gard who caught Rayne! Figured it would be him since he's the oldest living vampire. I really enjoy their verbal sparring -- I guess rakish bad boys will always be more fun than the broody silent types. ;-P

Poor Rayne. She's got Gard banishing her one moment and Freya plotting her death the next. Is it no wonder she's quickly becoming my favorite new character? Ha!

Looking forward to the next chapter!

He is one sexy vamp and I think Rayne's cat knows it even if Rayne is not so sure. Love the interaction between Fraya and her nephew, the hybrid children seem like a special group with their abilities of emotion sensing and (Lily's) talking to wolves.

I too know what Rayne's secret. But for the benefit of those that don't, I'll let that reveal itself in due time. Love the interaction between Gard and Rayne. I can't wait to see how he interacts with everyone when his presence is finally revealed. I applaud Rayne's efforts on Dayton's behalf. I thknk he secretly wants her to help him because he has to see what she's doing. And finally, the road that Freya and Dayton have ahead of them is so rocky that one false slip and they'll fall off the nearby cliff to their doom. I look forward to how you make it play out Jaz.

Figured it was Gard, the kids have thier own story and he is a good match for Rayne, looks like she's another hybrid, I wonder if that will make it easier for her and Gard to mate. Looking forward to more.

Jaz, What you probably consider a challenge to yourself as a writer, I see as a way to honor fans like myself. By going back to the beginning with Caleb and Annie, I know that you are taking this whole series to heart.It would be so easy to just go forward w/the story and not worry about past characters, and it must be more difficult as a writer to include them vs creating new characters. Please know that many of your fans like myself appreciate this fact. It's like running into an old best friend. You want to know everything that has happened since you last saw each other.

Ok, I'm starting to babble on. Just know the joy you get from writing is nothing compared to the joy I get reading such a wonderfully written story.

1)An anonymous user can only post once per IP address(trust me, I've tried as I'm too lazy to make an account), so, seeing as there are at least 3+ anonymous comments (not including this one, LOL), that's at least 3 diff. people, right? (I doubt Jaz would travel to diff. IPs just for this purpose xD)
2)Some of these commenters have stories of their own (I've read some great ones), so, yeah, unless Jaz has no life whatsoever to create ALL 60+ accounts and write a whole bunch of different stories just for the sake of these series, yeah...

I don't think Freya is acting irrational at all . . .

you have to remember that she's been pretty much doing whatever she wants, within vampire law, for centuries. For her to act like a vain, spoiled brat is natural, it's who she is. Her brother has doted on her and given into her whims and she expects everyone else to do so as well. So it's totally natural that Drayton ignoring her would piss her off--it would irritate a LOT of women if a hot guy ignored them. I can't wait for her confrontation with Rayne--it will be very interesting.

So glad my guess was correct that it was Gard that attacked her.LOL I also think that Rayne IS the original were/vamp hybred from Gards era and that she is the answer to what the hybred kids will grow up to be.

You know, with their witty little back and forth banter, Gard and Rayne are quickly becoming favorites of mine. Something about the way he calls her kitty is just adorable. Add to that the turbulence with Freya and Dayton, and this is shaping up to be a specacular story. It seems like each story you write is better than the last. :)

I want to ask how you can become better with every line you write? I thought Guard and the panter were brilliant and then you create Liam. He is brilliantly written and his feelings for his aunt are heart warming. And then (!) you decide to give the cold hearted bitch of Vampire a heart. How do you do it And hurry up I want more!
