I'm not Catholic, but I grew up in a Catholic neighborhood, and I recall that at the Catholic school dances the couples were always reminded to "leave room for the Holy Ghost", i.e. not get too close. Married women who are not dancing with their husbands should follow that rule!

hasn't kept up over time
i used to really dig JPB's work in general and this story in particular. not so much anymore. now the protagonist just comes across as weak.
