.....have to disagree with the previous comment, the "goeth/listeth" grates for me as being out of place - "goes where it wll" seems just as good, the former adds nothing in an otherwise nice little poem.

I thought

Goeth and listeth were a tongue in cheek association with ye olde Midsummer, which is why I smiled. But if I'm wrong about that then yes, I agree the words could be stated in more modern language.
