So, "before anything bad happened..." - is that referring to something bad happening to HER, as in before something COULD happen now that she's twenty-nine...? Or back before the crap her mom pulled but AFTER he was married to Pattie...?
Cause if it meant after she was twenty-nine before her life could completely turn to shit like it did for her brothers... um...? Fuck her...?

This was my third story. I found the others quite entertaining.
I was set to exclaim that you wrote well and had an ability to make us hate fictitious characters. And your bitch-burning is incontrovertible.
I had already had my comment planned UNTIL
I read the end.
Then YOU as the author, not a character said this:
"For some of you Billy is an asshole for not fighting to keep his family or because he just walked away. Some things aren't worth fighting over."
Those 2 sentences turned you into a grade a douchebag. I don't give a shit whether people fight for their wives.
You had billy make 3 children. You had him being their father for 10, 9, and 7 years.
I don't care what the wife has said and done, you never never never abandon your children! If EVER there was something worth fighting (AND DYING) for, it is your children. If they were adults, fine leave them. Your job as father is over. But, these are very young who have had the poison of the cheating cunt indoctrinating them. You do not abandon them, you triple up on time spent with them to help turn them into humans.
Because you wrote that last sentence as yourself, not as a character, but as the author, you now rank among the lowlife degenerates. I pray you do not have kids. If you do, I pray that child services has their eye on you.

This story left a really bad taste in my mouth but,Billy did the right thing!
