Grim reminder that no matter how hard we try to do the right thing, we have to live with other people fucking things up. Best not to place your faith in your fellow man, or especially woman. Rather place your faith in God. These stories all read like they could have come straight out of the Bible. They are all about a lack of faith, a lack of love, a lack of intelligence and too much pride. Unfortunately, most of these tales end as sadly as those in the Bible.

The two best things that Wallace did for Karen, he saved her life and he got her out of that nest of vipers aka her mothers family.
Pretty much the best possible ending when starting from such a beginning.

I'm really glad

I read the comments through or I would never have known this huedogg2 offering was a true and factual story. All the time I was reading, I thought for sure that it was fiction, maybe even fantasy. I'm sure that had I known it to be a true story I wouldn't have given it 5 stars. Oh well, I gave it 5 stars for the entertainment value anyway. All the guardhouse lawyers and their unwanted warnings of prosecution and jailing makes me sick. It's just a story.

The Opposite of Love

What a bunch of shitty people! The mother is an ungrateful cheater,and the 3 kids side with the selfish mother while tossing aside a dad who provided for them? And daddy,grabbing the 7-year old away from her mother! They're all turds!

What good would it have done

If he had given her his kidney, and left her with those awful people? She would have ended up like her siblings.
It always galls me when the wife blames the man for supporting his family! It's just low. He pulls his tripe out trying to make sure they have everything they need; but then gets nailed for not being there enough! Be that as it may, Karen was lucky her Dad was able to get her away from her mother. She had a much better life and was able to see what real love was like.

Thoughts

I can't believe that they tried to guilt-trip him after the way they betrayed him! And it wasn't just her plans to leave - unless I mis-read something, they ALSO knew about her three year affair!
