Decent but Wee Bit Ponderous Story

I kept reading hoping for a twist to rear up at the end of the story but was disapointed. The bisexual wife who shares her Euro model girlfriends with the lead character was something of a stretch.

The husband seemed a decent sort but the dialogue didn't give away any of the alleged game he must have to be in that position. Yet the story was readable - the author kept it moving and kept a brisk if conventional path in relating this tale.

What a weird story. I don't know if I liked it or hated it. It was different.

This is a typical Stultus fantasy about improbable but wonderful happenings. I enjoy all of his offerings from the dark through the light hearted ones! Nothing is ever believable but it would be nice if such a world was available to us! Lighten up guys! This is not True Stories....

Agree with Slamdogg I found the Bisexual wife sharing her fashion model girlfriends to be a bit of a reach but all in all not a bad story. I have always liked the idea of living well being the best revenge.

Good Writing Overecomes Unbelievable Story

After finishing this story (your second in the same day - wow!), I had to cogitate a spell. I conclude that this was a well-disguised spoof on the revenge stories so prevalent in this category.

Again, a few distracting errors good editing would have caught. Example: in one paragraph, a switch to protagonist first person ("we" a few times instead of they).

Your strength is wit. Keep writing.

Let's see. They got divorced because she wanted to run off with the "better" lover she's been cheating on him with. He marries a lesbian, who (almost by definition) cheats on him, albeit with other women. He fucks women not his wife (cheating, even if she approves it). And then he's going to hire his former cheating spouse, with an intention to fuck her, also; and not necessarily with his current wife's approval.
Was there ANY part of the marriage vows he took seriously?

I can believe the whole plot, but what really intrigues me is that with the parenting your story provides, "What in the hell is the next generation going to look, sound and act like!"

I truly hated this story!

Overall, I did not like it

First, let's just say the writing is for the most part quite crisp, You did slip into first-person POV for a paragraph, but that was scarcely enough to derail it.

Second, the story flowed along quite nicely until the ending, which did in fact derail it for me. The multiple-partner / bisexual wife thing was like hitting a wall. Completely undermined everything I liked about the tale.

Clearly, this story was inspired (or at least informed) by the maxim, "The best revenge is living well." The living well part just went too far overboard.

Good enough mechanically to bring the score to the middle. Three stars from me.

A Bit Over the Top...

for my tastes. Our hero had worked long hours to save the company and his wife ends up dumping him for another man. The stealing from him given how hard times were struck me the worse since she was supposingly trading up. I can see buying her a drink or even sending funds for her to get away from her no good husband but working for him at the same plant that she help Dave steal from and drive into bad shape? Can you imagine the conversation with his wife Carla - honey I am hiring my ex-wife as my personal assistant and I might get lucky? Just because he is forgiving doesn't mean that others who had to work hard to save the company would welsome his ex-wife back.

I simply dont understand how this can happen in real life. A woman robs her husband of all his savings and runs away with his biggest rival and 15 years later he is willing to forgive her and help her have a better life??? Im ok with fantasy as this is a story after all but this is too far fetched to happen in real life. What kind of a man would do this? Is he a wimp in a new disguise?

Well... I don't find the story at all hard to believe... but some of my friends are bi.

So, this is indeed the Living Well Revenge - and lesbian leaning sorts sharing sperm sources is not that impossible.

The unfortunate air of pompous self righteousness of the protagonist at the end is perhaps forgivable due to the requirements of the Living Well motif, but...

Oh well.

A good read - made me feel much better on a difficult day.

His new/current life lacks soul. If we had learned more about his new wife *from* his new wife, we might have more understanding of their true relationship. What he presents is pretty dry and utilitarian. It sounds like he has relations, but no relationships.

His new life has what he wants most

He has a wife who's getting everything she needs from him to be happy in their marriage and won't abandon him for greener pastures and lots of children in his life. There was nothing in the story that suggested that sexual fidelity - or even getting frequent sex - was ever a critical requirement of his (the story puts all the emphasis on his first wife abandoning and impoverishing him, and barely mentions the fact that she was cheating on him with his rival), but his second wife has no interest in sex with any man but him and he's getting all the sex he wants, so he has enough of both to satisfy him.

I now believe this was the fantasy of a betrayed man, hoping to redeem his life somehow. Actually in the end he kicks the ex out, just for shits and giggles. Some fantasy, heh?
