Susan, your story hooked me right from the start, not because it was a lesbian story but because it was about a woman. Finally someone, others have too but so few, got it right. We are lesbians, but we're not men with tits and a pussy, we long for all the same things any woman longs for. We want to find that one person, fall in love with her, spend the rest of our life with her, have children with her, grow old with her and spend eternity with her. For a hetro girl your pretty smart, you get it.
But then you go and lose me with this "suddenly she realized that she was a real sucker for a testosterone filled butch of a female. Something she missed without having a man in her life," you don't totally get it. A woman being butch does not mean she is in anyway male. Masculine yes but in no way is she male or even male like. There are men who are feminine but we don't equate them to woman. There surely are enough hetro girls who are very masculine in nature, does that make them somehow more male than female?
I'm not much into butch girls but I was in love with one, really macho, a real stud but when we made love I was making love to a woman. When she took me to dinner I was with a woman. When she kissed me in public I was being kissed by a woman, not a wannabe man. If something in my life made me want a woman who acted like or was male than I might as well get a man and I assure you that isn't going to happen.

I enjoyed the plot, but had some trouble keeping the emotions and actions straight. While the plot itself was very powerful, my confusion made this hard to follow.
You were truthful when you stated in "Who is SusanJillParker" that you wrote from the perspective of male, female, gay, straight, and lesbian' and in virtually all categories' and not only that but based on your reader response have done it remarkably well. Sorry they wouldn't allow us to vote you deserved at least a 5 for this.
You kept me on edge all the way through the story. The gentle seduction in a harsh environment was genius. I would love to vote but I can't seem to find the voting buttons. Please don't ever stop writing.
The title is apt to what we read. A body aching for the gentle sensual touch and a blind woman who finds her way around her partners body. Being in a darkened room only enhances the feelings of the participants
