It's an interesting way for things to go. IMO Carol's awfully generous for a young girl, and Mom seems eager for it b/c the plot demands it but hey, your story to do your way. Attitudes have changed enough to where female bisexuality isn't shocking.

IMO the story's sexy but emotionally dishonest. Chances are, somebody's going to get possessive, jealous, or insecure and bollix things being happy-go-lucky fun times.

I disagree with the whole 'bisexual female' being acceptable in modern society.
If, you are bisexual (Txlcoatl1970), then you wouldn't say that. As a Bisexual person, you face the inevitable 'when are you going to just jump the fence?' stereotype from either the hetero community, or the gay community. It gets difficult for men, but women are expected to be bisexual, even if they don't in fact like the idea of being with another woman. The sexual media *(PORN!) has a lot to do with that.... As it's just about every man's fantasy to see two women going at it. Little do most men know that if they were ever in that position, they would be totally ignored by thier partners. So, before you go and start mouthing off about fantasies, and about bisexual woman being accepted, check your facts. They face more descrimination amongst both the straight community, and amongst the gay community than you realise.
I was hinting that this story was plotted by Rule of Cool about All Women Are Happily Bisexual that I find a bit implausible even these days.
FWIW, I've crewed in theater for roughly thirty years, and met quite a few folks of every sexual stripe. I have a daughter-in-law who's bisexual who's made a lot of the same points you've made.
I met more than a few bisexuals who felt socially buffaloed into denying one branch or the other of their attractions as you've mentioned to pass as straight or be true to the queer community with no middle ground in the 1980's ACT UP days.
I sincerely hoped the LGBT community could quit being so twitchy and let people be who they are, regardless of labels, but with Dan Savage trying real hard to flush whatever goodwill generated by It Gets Better etc.with his denial of bisexuality, gah!.
