Demure, you read this poem like the pro you are, and saw its connection to "Beowulf". This is a found poem FROM "Beowulf", which I wrote as a model for my students, before they wrote their own. It is based on one of the last digressions in the poem. I wrote a little note to this effect, thinking it would appear at the beginning of the poem, but it hasn't. In fact, I don't know where the note is. I am, however, thrilled that you saw the connection! Bravo!
