I appreciate getting a new perspective. I also find it interesting when other people try to impose their values on others. Her perspective is no less valid than those espoused by her critics. People value things differently and it is important to understand how the same "situation" can be seen so differently, and how our actions in response to our perspectives can have devastating unforeseen and neglected consequences. Well done; gave it a 5.

Her perspective
Isn't a perspective it's a fantasy.
He wasn't a good father he was out fooling around when he could be a father.
The other wife fooled around with a married man and she paid the price.
The wife could have waited out the humiliation and stayed with him anyway if he was so wonderful.
Interesting take on the aftermath of a BTB scenario
Very few of the BTB stories deal with the aftermath of the wasted marriage. While she was rationalizing something fierce and wallowing in self pity, she had some valid points. Randy, instead of quietly letting her know, basically nuked her and her entire family. Little good comes out of that much anger, however justified it might be. The Law of Unintended Consequences rules.

Fucking around
Does not constitute a "good father" or a good husband, no matter that she was infatuated with him. Fuck her. Fuck her and her cheating cunt of a husband.
I see literally nothing wrong or bad about his revenge.
Innocent woman? Who? Did you omit some character from this story perhaps? Because his ex-wife wasn't innocent. She betrayed. Deceived. Cheated. No reprieve or mercy should be given to those that practice that kind of abhorrent behavior.

Anonymous11/28/14
Deserved everything...
This cunt deserved everything she got...here's hoping she dies angry, lonely and penniless.
yes, it was definitely over the top to email even to the male cheater's in-laws. but she has to take responsibility for her own actions too, instead of simply blaming the other victim in the situation.
also perhaps it was very cunning and sly to put up a front for 6 weeks but at that point the male victim's relationship was broken and presumably he had to get evidence and make preparations to avoid getting raped in family court. do you (plural) think he should have given a heads up to his ex-wife that he knew and was preparing to divorce her?
otherwise, it is definitely a great story to read cos little is really ever told what happens in real life. in divorce, usually everyone suffers
by
Anonymous02/19/15
So yeah.
Like he initially guessed, she used him as a scapegoat for her husband (and his wife) destroying two marriages.
After divorcing a cheating wife, any man with sense will have already had what he can do if his next one does it to him again printed on t-shirts and baseball caps. And maybe a bumper sticker on his car.

Umm, Just Don't Cheat?
"I hope you are pretty darned perfect because if you slip up...well, now you know what he can do."
To which Natalie responded, "I won't cheat on him and he won't cheat on me. It sounds like you haven't learned a thing. You should go find yourself another man who cheats, since that seems like what you want."
I get it. Interesting concept, but doesn't seem like the logical conclusion and isn't the typical reaction of a cheated on spouse. In Real Life, they're usually grateful to get out of the thing.

Making the decision for someone else.
While it seems like her anger is over the top. I can understand that nobody likes decisions about their lives made by someone else and taken away from them.
One of the previous comments said she could file a suit for alienation of affection against him.
Maybe against his ex-wife, but if her husband didn't have sex with his ex-wife none of this would have splattered on her.
By the same logic he could file against her for A of A, since she was her ex-husband's enabler.
The only people that would get a dime from either of those suits would be attorneys.
My abiding scorn of the BTB lynchmob is that they are too cowardly to face up to all the collateral damage their narcissist violence causes for all the innocents forced to witness their self-righteous tantrums.

Anonymous11/05/15
Good Story!
Some would say that the story is timeless. I would agree, more so due to the comment from the self righteous twit below. There is always collateral damage in divorce, often made worse by a spouse seeking revenge. Get over it, move on as best you can. Ultimately, revenge is often bitter rather than sweet.
so it's ok for her husband to destroy someone else marriage
as long as she can hide her head in the sand. FD45, your big on forgiveness and I commend that but some things can't before given and some wrongs can't be righted. War is hell and in the end both marriages were blew the fuck up.

Anonymous11/16/15
I support the author's right to free speech!
Am I one of very few who accept a STORY as is? I see people analyzing characters beyond the scope of this story. I read the author add a redirect comment that the angered wife did NOT know her husband was a cheat. And still people criticize this story to fit their own perceptions!
I don't want to second guess FD45, but I enjoy revenge tale, but I tire at reading too many extreme cruelty outcomes. This story is refreshing in two particular points.
First, the agreived wife had every right to be angered at the agreived husband. Having been abandoned by a wife tired of marital responsibilities, she left me with four young children 2 to 6 years old. Despite a good job, we were poor and I bought as many used clothes as was necessary. I have empathy for the agreived wife.
Second, the author has every right as an author to portray the agreived husband as somewhat deserving to be cheated upon. If he wants this man to have a mean streak, accept this as part of the story.
This story stands on its own merits and I applaud the author for his bravery to stand his ground and show us the flaws of unbridled revenge as the only vehicle for non cuckold stories.
So, the man who ruined a life should get away scot-free. Go home to his loving wife and kids and leave the collateral damage behind. Strange concept I have to say.
I would have exposed my wife and her husband relentlessly. Her acceptance of her husband's actions caused pain to other families. So, in my mind, she was as responsible as her fucking husband.

As I read this story, and then the comments.....
I began to realize just how narrow minded some some of the commenters on this site are, including both Users, and the anonymous ones. When there are children involved, and sometimes even when they are not people often have to forgive, in some cases just for self preservation, if for nothing else. Read the story, is it somewhat original, is it grammatically correct. Does it have a beginning? Does it have character and circumstance development? Does it have an ending relevant to the beginning, and the character and fact development. I don't think that a reasonable judgment of a story is one's own narrow moral code, and personal sense of justice. If you think that a fair judgment of the story rests on the latter two factors, you're wasting a whole lot of time reading stories in this category. This was a great story which explored the negative situation in aftermath of the divorce for the wronged spouse, not often dealt with in this category. She got BTB'ed and it wasn't even her fault, and I thought you always liked it when we had a BTB situation. Guess not.
I agree with HDK's comment. Am surprised at the vitrolic comments - this was just a little flash story - one scene and a different perspective. I see nothing that needs finishing, although I'd like to see our protagonist find somebody new and move on. Five stars from me.
natalie was reported missing after failing to return from her morning run, from the dicksboroughs apartments on oct 16. after six weeks with no breaks in the case, photgraphic evidence of her spouses infidelity was mailed anonymously to the local police, the couples' parents, parish, workplaces, friends, book-club members, facebook "friends", distant cousins, vague acquaintances, unborn children, and various non sequiturs. the hero was exonerated in a dramatic deus ex machina. it was sexcellent.

Ok writing but...
This woman was a stupid bitch.
Wars are never pretty or easy unless one side rolls over.
Is that the moral here?
My friend was so devastated by his wife cheating repeatedly no matter how hard he tried that he killed himself.
Don't FUCKING CHEAT!!!
When you start a fight, don't be surprised when you get your fucking ass handed to you and your stupidity in starting the fight hurts everyone around you.
Don't fuck another man's wife moron! It is not an act of peace.
Another nice short one. Even though Brenda may have had some legitimate grievances, like getting sucked into the wake of the bridges burned, she still is in a smaller way bringing Natalie into her mess. It might feel nice, but collateral damage is unfortunate.

slip up?????
Having affair is not slip up. I always enjoy your stories but was having trouble taking 'heroine's'' side.
THEN
STARTED CONSIDERING ALL THOSE TO WHOM HE SENT ''MAILERS''
TOO MUCH COLLATERAL DAMAGE
You concentrate fire on cheaters
The funny thing is that what keeps reviewers like Xiemand from submitting their own stories is that they are afraid of the comments from reviewers like Xiemand.
Why do some people get so "involved"?
Excellent example of the flash genre. One scene, one location, cast of three, plenty of dialogue, good tension and a twist at the end.
Well, Xiemand, you have barely impinged upon my awareness. I do not read every single comment that is written everywhere. Some people I respect do not think highly of you, so in that one regard, I 'know' about you. But I haven't formed any particular opinion except you tend to be an insulting 'anti cuck' who is tough on writers.
So let me tell you two things. IF I deleted your comment, it was so long ago, that I do not remember it. And generally, I delete for about 4 reasons:
-If you start going after other commenters or try to start a flame war on my stories. Other writes put up with that shit. But I generally start with a warning. And I read EVERY COMMENT.
-If you, like Duna, start to post 96 comments about other stories which are 90 paragraphs long. You are supposed to be talking about ME and my stories. He has gotten better now.
-If you decide to post some political crap on my non-political story. The occasional soft swipe is okay, particularly if you have a history of NOT BEING AN ASSHOLE
That is a nice gold standard writers like in commenters: NOT BEING AN ASSHOLE. But if you go full on "She must be a Clinton supporter because she is a cheating cunt" or "He is a Trump guy because he lies and lies", I will cut your comment. Cause I don't want a political flame war on my comments either. Now, if I OPEN the gates by writing a political story, flame away! I did it to myself.
-IF YOU POST THE ENITRE COMMENT LIKE THIS. IT SHOWS YOU ARE SUCH A MENTAL RETARD THAT YOU EITHER DO NOT KNOW WHAT A CAPS LOCK KEY IS OR YOU DON'T CARE ***YOU ARE WILLFULLY BEING AN ASSHOLE****
Now, I don't know WHEN you posted a comment (see importance), but I haven't deleted any comment for weeks.
Now, it is perfectly possible that I deleted a comment by you but forgot. But it is equally possible that a) the admins did it on two separate story lines just for me, which means you have some soul searching and apologizing to do quickly before you go out the door* , b) you, like a block head, never hit 'submit' and so you thought your comment was processed when it wasn't (happened to me last week), or c) there was in imperfection in the internet website (Shocking, I know)
I hope this clarifies the issue for you.
* Note: The last 30 days have not had any admin deleted comments on my story. I can see when the admins do it, though I don't see the comments themselves. I DO know that comments were deleted in the last 5 months though. So take that for what it's worth.
Now you know MY rules. If you look at comments in my section, even ASSHOLES are allowed to comment. So if I don't delete 'cuck fag shit' from my comments, your comments were probably pretty safe.
You set rules for the commentariat? How terribly terribly restrictive. Commenters need an outlet and you would place restrictions on their entertainment?
In your biographical note you say "I write to please myself. If I bring you joy, it is a bonus. If you don't like them, I'm sorry. Try someone else."
Commenters comment to please themselves. If they bring you joy, it is a bonus. If one of them doesn't, on this story you have over a hundred and thirty others that may do so.
Except I posted my comment very recently. In January. Less than two weeks ago.
I neither argued with anyone in the comment section, nor did I post with Caps Lock turned on, and there most certainly was no mention of anything political in my comment. I doubt any of the admins did it as I haven't insulted anyone, unless we're talking about the story itself.
My comment consisted of how you have this odd urge to make out the man in this story as the bad guy, as if he made the other woman's husband cheat on her. And the tired old excuses of "He/she was a shitty spouse, but a great parent" is a tiresome unfounded cliche. By the act of cheating, you destroy the family unit. I can't see how anyone could think that such an act made anyone a good parent.
I don’t understand the stigma attached to deleting comments. Everyone complains about authors deleting comments. It’s like, “Oh, if you delete this toolbox’s comment, you’re a big coward!” That’s just BS.
It’s their story, isn’t it? They have the right to delete comments if they choose. They were given that right by the site. They have the power over their own story. That’s as it should be. No one is obligated to listen to me comment on their story. That’s just the way it is.
If you make a douchey comment, why would an author keep that around? Life doesn’t work like that. If someone says something rude to me, I don’t stand there and take it, I walk away. Deleting a comment is an author walking away. Makes sense to me. People need to get over that lunacy. I had two comments deleted yesterday. It happens. Move on.
Sorry, FD45, haven't read the story. Just the comment.
I was rather puzzled by that comment by LSD. Why did he mention you at all? As I said, I do not recall deleting any comments recently. I still stand by my memory, but it isn't what it once was.
Forgetful, maybe. A liar? Not so much.
You can believe what you want, but my easiest recourse was to simply ignore you or continue to delete more of your comments if that was my desire.
Instead I outlined how things ACTUALLY work on Lit for your elucidation. I have had comments of my own vanish but if you feel better by feeling persecuted, please pleasure yourself at your discretion. But most people do that in private.
And frankly, your comment did not seem radical enough to delete if you described it accurately. Check my 'fans'. They regularly say much worse things, not that I am trying to give you incentive to ramp up your bile.
If you think I always blame the men, you are incorrect. First, some of my stories outline the women as rather harsh and immoral people (Enabling, Initial Public Offerings, Glen's Pride, Rode Hard, Put Away Wet). Second, I write stories where the men might not have been worthy of being cheated on, but being victimized, they decided to go down a moral sinkhole and self justified doing VERY BAD THINGS to ones they claimed to have loved, including their children (VBT, Second Chances, Reconciliation, the Forgotten Woman). Occasionally I write about men who, faced with that impulse, decide to NOT victimize other people (Initial Public Offerings)
I am sorry that you believe that being victimized means someone is immune to any moral criticism. I disagree. If a woman is raped, that does not exonerate her from taking a 9mm and shooting every man who hits on her. Same with a man. We shall have to agree to disagree.
There are any number of other authors who will gladly scratch your itch for male sainthood and despicable women without any troubling moral quandaries. Alas, I like to write about troubling moral quandaries. You have been warned.
Which is why I deleted your stupid and poorly written comment.
Oh wait! No I didn't. Because even a perusal that your brain is capable of would see any number of insulting and insensitive comments on this very story.
How can it be that wimpy fag 'writers' delete all these negative comments when there are negative comments still here?
Perhaps you can ask someone intelligent and patient to explain it to you.
@ anonymous - "the issue is - authors have to accept criticism but writers are just wimps that cannot handle it."
There is a VAST difference between criticism and being an asshole. Criticism is "this story was horribly written. I hated it." Being an asshole is "this author is a cream-pie sucking retard". People (mostly those who have never written a story) always want to bunch up asshole comments in the "negative criticism" category. Kimi1990 and HIV have moments when they are examples of true negative commenters. They have times when their comments are just flame-throwing, but when they are at their best they just say that they didn't like a story, and tell why. Most of the times I disagree with their assessments and question their thought patterns, but have to respect their difference of opinion.
In my opinion, negative criticism sticks to the story. Asshole comments take personal attacks, make stupid generalizations, or simply hate for the purpose of hating. Those comments (asshole comments) should be deleted.
One other thing. Administration deletes comments too. I have had it happen. When it happens, authors don't even know about it. In my last story, I had 7 comments deleted. I didn't even get a notice about it. I just saw that the comments went down from 96 to 89. I couldn't even find the comments to see why they were deleted. Readers who haven't written a story should give the author the benefit of the doubt, especially if it is an author who doesn't get easily offended by comments. I can't see FD45 deleting comments just because they were negative. There are thin-skinned authors out there, but he doesn't strike me as being one of them.

Yes
Yes Insulting Anonymous Asshole
Which is why I deleted your stupid and poorly written comment.
Oh wait! No I didn't. Because even a perusal that your brain is capable of would see any number of insulting and insensitive comments on this very story.
How can it be that wimpy fag 'writers' delete all these negative comments when there are negative comments still here?
Perhaps you can ask someone intelligent and patient to explain it to you.
To add to the argument
Tough luck, bitch!
Yeah, hubby was a real saint. Too bad he was fucking up other people's lives and marriages. And you KNEW about it. So you paid the consequences too. Pity.
