I like this, but the first stanza puzzles me. I like the rhyme, it's the content that I don't quite get. Here is what I am thinking:
Let winter wait a while: it can bide
its time, while you remember and recall. (clear so far)
Don't stand in the chill water; for the tide (someone in the ocean?)
will soon freeze over: icy leaves will fall (not ocean ? lake with a tide?)
around your feet, but you evoke desires. (why but? how do desires relate?)
These choice delights have never disappeared. (clear)
Like ash, they smolder, as will all the fires
that you'll rekindle once the mists have cleared.
I think the problem may be with "you evoke desires". Anyway, I hope this is helpful. I think I am a bit dense today, so if this is out of line just ignore me.
