You are an amazing writer. Ty for sharing such a wonderful story for the holidays. Looking forward to seeing more from you in the coming year. Happy holidays :)
This is a wonderful story, thank you for sharing it with us! Have a blessed holiday.
This was so slow moving and pointless that I could only manage to skim the second half. Whatever. I'll give it a "2", since it was fairly well written in a technical sense.
Thanks for this story and the many others you have gifted to all of us.
Schmaltzy seasonal story, but that's perfectly alright when it's done right. Two years in Nam. We couldn't piggyback unless we re-upped. Not bloody likely.
The greatest kindness we do for each other is anonymous and selfless. Thank you for your story. RIP Jay, Nancy, Joseph, and Andrew. Been one helluva year!
A touching, gentle, loving story that is full of grace and charm. Darn you for making me feel emotions!
This sweet story, so filled with wonder, is a timely reminder of how we receive by giving. Thank you so much.
as I read this story tears come to my eyes. I am getting on in age and see the end is near. my tears come not for me but for my wife and kids. I will no longer be there for them. they will mourn my passing. I can see my wife's grief stricken face. worse than the one that I saw when her dad and later her mom died, hopefully God will allow me to be their silver angel. Thank you.
With a great message and good people - even Edwina made her peace and work through her anger and hatred - nice stuff.
Thank you for a really good read. Loved the characters and the plot.
I read this 12/24/2014. It reminds me of the meaning of Christmas. Doing good for others when they need it, not sling our egos around.
I',m not a believer of any kind, but this story still moved me.
Again you showcase with a story like this. you are not a great story teller but a modern bard.

I think most people would agree that your stories, short or long are quality. Nice one. Keep writing. Thank you for the pleasure of reading your work. Owen
... after another one of qhml1’s stories.
Sort of more poignant than usual as I’m back in my family’s home (the one I grew up in), cleaning up after putting my father in a nursing home a couple of weeks ago. This seems to hit a little closer to home. Though, don’t most of qhml1’s stories do so? 😭
of Mash where Hawkeye turns the clock ahead a few minutes so a family won't think of their soldier dying on Christmas day.

The brother I was closest to was 12 years older than me, his birthday was Dec. 20th. He died 7 years ago, he would be 76 if he had lived longer. Spent time with him the 5 months he was in the hospital before he died, telling stories of growing up. We seem to have a tradition in our family, no one dies alone, his daughter was with him when he passed. Thanks for this story.
Decent story, far better than the majority of crap published on Literotica
I liked it ,
Until towards the end telling the story, I lost the plot, sorry.
You made an old man cry (again). Lovely story and one that reaches where most others don't.
One more special gift to those who enjoy reading. Thank you for another Christmas tradition.

Fine tearjerker with the usual qhml1 sloppiness - typing too fast, not reviewing and fixing misspellings, missing words, misplaced punctuation, confused pronouns and POVs, etc. Seriously, all your stories need disciplined editing.
Made me weep, I'm 67 years old for Christ's sake. beautiful story. AAAAA+++++
With all the chaos and anger in this world, it is good to see and even hear there is still good in some of us. A very touching story. Well done.
The best tear jerker I have ever read from any writer, ever. Enough to keep tissue manufacturer in business. Even if most of it is fiction, it includes enough reality to lead us to believe it is real. Thx.
5* +++++

Oh Lordy I’m making tear puddles on my Moon Pie….
Nuff said, Still 10 on the five scale.
On to da next…
Powerful emotive story about love and loss. Thank you for sharing it with us. And making me use another pack of tissues 🤧 😢 BardnotBard
All I have to say WOW! That was a crazy emotional story. I got sucked right into the story…..
