I am so caught up in this story I don't know what to say. I guess I will just have to follow it to the end. You have me totally captivated. I don't understand why were not given the opportunity to vote on chapter four.
Very interesting story and will eagerly look for the next chapter. One minor point about where Dave referred to himself as an "ex Marine". He would never do that and instead would say he was a "former Marine". Your not an ex Marine until your dead, I know several of them and they all refer to themselves that way.
The earlier chapters of this fine story were a bit painful to read but things are looking up now.
A great story and a great writer has put much of herself into it and it's another 5 star effort.
Now I have wasted a perfectly good evening enmeshed in your tale. I am not oblivious to the parallel track to your own professed biography. Nonetheless, I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. I look forward to more of Susan and Dave's life crossing.
This story is getting interesting.
Please continue writing.
I'd like to vote for it but there is no voting bar.
This is a pitty because this is great stuff.
how is it that i've failed to see so many things in life?????
in addition to this being an excellent story, it is a very revealing view into people's lives that I've never been able to see. The former career marine and how he views himself and the world, and then the life of a homeless person...I will be a more observant and proactive person now towards people that I've never taken the time to get to know because I was so caught up in my life. Don't you dare stop writing SJP, you have a great gift!
I hope there is a virtual counter some where for my 5 *****s
I do hope we are reading creative license not autobiographical history.
Thank you for the insight and observations regarding our domestic social obligations. It is too easy to forget to take care of our own while trying to be a benevolent "super" power to everyone else.
Cool
Way to go Susan, always love your stories
Wonderful story
Susan, this is a wonderful story, there is so much of you in it. I look forward to chapter 6. Michael
It's my turn to say "WOW".

I really like the way this story is progressing and it looks like there is hope for these two souls.
