Will you just love this man???? My heart is breaking for him! When you described his thoughts about what it would mean to him if he could make her cum, I felt so, so sad for him. I know that she has her defenses up and he'll have to work to bring them down, but please give this guy something to hold on to!
Oh, btw, another great installment SJP:) Your story is such a great and tender tale of how two broken people can meet and feel for each other things that bring them back to life. I love it and I can't wait for your next chapter!

SusanJillParker,, I hope not too much of the real you is in this story, as it has a cathartic feel to it and it is so sad in spite of the great writing. Two damaged people and only one seems to realize what each needs to make them whole, to repair some of the damage and to move on with life. Hopefully, she has only nipped out for something and is coming back, but in any case, Dave will have the skills to find her again if any one can.

My only criticism is her being able to sneak off without waking him. A man so skilled in fighting and staying alive would sleep very lightly and would have been aware of her getting out of bed. Oh, and you still use the term "a retired Marine", once a Marine, always a Marine until death do you part and Dave will never divorce his true mistress.

You disappeared when he was in the shower, I guess you should forgive his indiscretion he was busy being a Marine and did love the story, I hope he gave you a five also. None of your readers can follow your stories very long without regretfully recognizing where you have been. Hopefully you will find who you need or what you need in the very near future. The story was getting interesting.It would be a tragedy if they are not in love and hope she comes back and they live happily ever.

What a surprise!

After all the character building and the introspection of the characters, I never figured Susan to be one to cut and run just because the going got tough. She demonstrated her courage and strength when fighting off physical attackers but she turns and runs when faced with a guy who says "I love you" albeit perhaps a bit suddenly and prematurely.

After all, he is a Marine and the master of the frontal assault, a take-it-to-'em kind of guy!

Where's that strong willed, courageous woman who stands her ground against overwhelming odds? Is she that soft that she can't stand and face this and work it out?

I sure hope she's just gone out to get some fresh air and clear her head and is coming back. Please don't disappoint me after coming this far.
