with believable emotion, tension, suspense. May I suggest the modern literary "cool" of no quotation marks really doesn't work. Writing is a visual experience for the reader, and not only imaginative visual. Dispensing with quotation marks has a way of detaching the characters, making their speech as sterile as mathmatical symbols.
If you cannot be bothered to properly indicate speech and follow basic English grammar, do not expect anyone to be bothered reading your work.

An engaging, believable story.
Lack of punctuation didn't bother me.
