Interesting introduction,

Although I don't normally read stories of this genera, I have found this to be a well crafted start for a series.

The ability to commit is a function of maturity rather than laws or sexual persuasion. I can commit to be good solid friends with many or just flit from one acquaintance to another. An acquaintance is different from a long-term solid friend.

Hence, I don't see gay as an impediment to a long term committed relationship. Gay "marriage" is another thing but that is changing too now as laws are adapting.
