Good story. I'm with one of the earlier comments: almost too short... lots of additional potential here.There are only two real criticisms I can identify. First, and this my opinion, there needed to be a little more buildup before the re-initiation of intimacy; it seemed a little rushed. The back story was good; loved it and it fuels the imagination. Second, "Then he conveniently shipped out to Afghanistan a week later." Nobody suddenly ships out like that; the dirtbag knew he was headed overseas when he was knocking her up. As a side note, wouldn't have taken too many phone calls and medical documentation to get the military to help her tag him for child support. Maybe no big deal on the surface, but birth father deceased carries significant benefits for the dependent child left behind.

Incest is a tricky genre to get right; self-doubt would naturally occur, yet would slow things up and get too complicated; OTOH, ignoring the questions altogether makes it too much of a fantasy. This story went straight down the middle; very well written.
