I would have liked to have given this story a five, but you got reduced to a three. The reason is obvious; you set the infidelity up nicely, but then you just let it end.

Were I to write a follow up there'd be a few aspects you'd likely disapprove of.

For one, as a couple comment writers noted fifty is a little late for a healthy pregnancy. If Tom were to forgive her there's every likelihood the pregnancy would go badly resulting in a possibly defective child or a dead mother.

Second, in this situation Tom might overlook her indiscretion if she weren't pregnant and if she came clean right away. I doubt it though. Sorry, if it was somebody else's wife, or somebody else's daughter, or any other white woman it wouldn't matter, but if something like that ever happened to any of my characters, sorry, no.
