I enjoyed the twist that hubby had his replacement lined up. You are going to get a lot of flak from the BTB crowd as wife did not repent or even regret her actions. But sometimes life is not "neat".

Hard to tell if everyone won in this tale, or everyone lost.

One major gripe I have is this notion so commonly found in stories on this site: she writes him a goodbye note, expressing her love and regret, telling him how sorry she was for disappointing him, and then describing in detail each fuck with her lover. What guy wouldn't appreciate that! Talk about pouring salt in a wound. I felt like the point of the letter was to soften her departure (at least in her mind). She even sealed it with a kiss to express her love. That kind of letter actually made her come across as the coldest bitch imaginable.

Enjoyed the first half

and thought the second half was underdeveloped. Very interesting concept and plot. Just so summary in nature at the end. I don't believe hubby and wife would have gotten on so lovingly with such secrets, especially with him knowing hers. Still, I could have accepted that he knew, despised it, but similarly loved wife and didn't want to disrupt their life together....so took up with another....as revenge? to pass the time? to seek solace and comfort? See, none of it is clear. So, it ends up being more a beginning of a story and the end is mere outline. Next time, think it through and develop it. I don't know the hubby at all. That said, interesting and I liked your style.

With all honesty

This person or character is probably in the top two or three most despised in any story I've yet to read at literotica. Believe me, there have been plenty of self-serving self-deluded people described here but this one might surely take the cake. Apparently since the author has gotten his piece he is biased. I dont believe for a minute that she ALWAYS practices/practiced safe sex, with her obvious penchant for debauchery have dangerous sex would be right up her alley. Frankly, Tom should have used the gun.

I suspect that those it is guys, always anonymous, who are afraid, deep down inside, would go very meekly if their wives turned on them. Only in their fantasies are they big strong dominating males who take no shit from their wives.

Hubby had NO reason to commission a PI until after Sweetie came back from her first fuckfest! Nice concept, both romantically involved with others for decades. Ironic, she feels guilty for preferring her lover, leaves peacefully, and at no cost to him. He's happy to see her go. So they were birds of a feather, staying together for their kid.
Why would they have any fury or hate for the other?

Morally in sync, neither felt the need to discuss their sexual needs. Common enough marital strategy, sadly.

Good story, that would have been better if you had omitted the epilogue. Sometimes it's best to stop with a bang y'know.

Having re-read my story I think I do agree with the last anonymous comment. It probably would have been better without the epilogue - Thx for all the comments (good and bad) - I maybe will rewrite this story when I have a little more experience.

The Sad Part,

I believe you when you say it's true. I just hope when her sex drive diminishes and her looks go that she has someone to grow old with. Unfortunately, because she kept her rings and her family pictures she may have regrets when that happens if not guilt even only if it's from her religious up bringing. I had a few questions but after reading the last part of the epilog of your involvement my questions were answered, like why "not-so". I don't judge people, no really, as a Behaviorist we know why people do what they do and don't use societal rules to decide whether the behavior is right or wrong (societies' standards tend to change over time). We almost separate the behavior and the person to provide a more objective picture. We tend not to use words like "bad person, evil person, perverted, stupid, dumb, slut, etc. However I do have a better perspective when reading your stories knowing your sexual history. Of course, that doesn't change the fact that you are a damn good writer and I continue to look forward to reading your stories. For research purposes, of course. Thank you for the distraction from my life. Wait, your characters possess a lot of the same behavioral patterns as the people I work with. From now on could you please stick to fiction at least partly, thank you.

The essence they lived open marriage and the husband found the better wife, when their son garaduated in Oxford and the wife left him. This is the end of the majorities of the open marriages This is the essence. The story has an open question, if the son will let his mother spoil her grandkids?
