I rarely post but thought I should say something one this one

I've read almost all your stories and most have been very good and very enjoyable, well desevering of the usual 5 stars. This one however I couldn't give 5*.

I read to escape life and all the depressing things this world has way too much of, normally one of your stories will make me laugh and make the world that little less depressing.

I appauld the work you've put into this and look foward to reading your next work, though would appreciate it if you could make it a touch lighter much "A Ruined Life".

the definition of romance

If the depth and quality of a romantic impulse is to be measured by its willingness to overcome obstacles and persevere when all others would capitulate, then story is the very emblem of the spirit of romance.
I can really appreciate the effort here to conjure as extreme an example as possible in the story. It is the stuff of myth and legend when taken to this level. And no one can deny that you did an excellent job of that. For that alone, you are to be congratulated on a compelling story.
I suspect some will object to the story as being unrealistic - a charge I see with surprising frequency on this site (!). But when you are carving out an ideal, harping on the more mundane realities of existence seems like a moot point.

I will be sure to check out more of your stories. (:

Hmmm... definitely more than a 4 but maybe not a 5...

I don't know if it's a case of I sort of had it in my mind that he would die and things would progress from there or what... so there was a bit of a letdown there I guess...

But all said, it was still an enjoyable story...
