If they allowed zero stars, this one would get it...hands down.
This was without a doubt, the worst I have read on this site in a very, very long time.
Total waste of time and energy.

Agree this i worth a zero
Why would they trade or the US allow trading a civilian for a US soldier?
Too stupid for words.
State Department is riding shotgun and they leave the negotiations to the father all alone? If he was more valuable than a soldier, they'd never let him in country.
Oh you mean for some reason they left him alone with suspected terrorists or they let him use a translator that works with terrorists or not even a US soldier.
This is beyond stupid.

Zero?
It seems you have attracted an idiot who is following your stories and commenting.

happy/sad ending but...
as this is fantasy and therefor a "suspension of disbelief" story, as are lots of movies, it works ok. The negative comments from two people are confusing that point with reality in my opinion.
Yes, there are holes in the plot. And yes, in real life things might not work like that. But also, perhaps they just might. Who knows, the warlord may have had a daughter/son that they had the same thing happen to. But he let that child die, so he showed some mercy. So... I think no dad ever really wants to lose the "hero" status in his daughter's eyes. And from that viewpoint, the story succeeds.

fiction
I agree. There are holes in the plot and the logic, but I don't think the author intended a deep dive into the exact details of hostage-rescue-negotiations or even military operations. My humble opinion is that the author wrote a father-daughter incest story to be enjoyed at face value. I could be wrong. Maybe the angry readers were expecting an Ian Fleming, Eric Van Lustbader, or Ken Follet novel perhaps. Or maybe they wanted truthful details like what only Tom Clancy can do. Not sure if those authors write erotic short stories though, so good luck with that one.
I'm just going to enjoy this one for what it's worth.

Satisfying ending
Great story, man! And it was a satiusfying ending. Not sure why some others hate it so much because of the details, but it was a good read and a good way to end the stroy. i guess it could go another chapter with the daughter having the kid and then looking for the father. maybe she gets him freed and they live happily ever after. anyway, thanks for the story and keep it up!!!
a great story I wish you could write a little more about what happened to heather and the baby. Did things work out for her and James? Did he find out that the baby was not his? What about Claire how did he take the news? Does she ever find out about him and Heathetr. Overall it was an amazing story but there are so many open questions dealing with the aftermath of what he did to help his daughter.
Do they allow zero's
