Cute tale..but I question the names and even the need for names in this. The Dinka live in Southern Sudan, and not in the greatest of situations either. Ali Babar brings visions to mind of Babar the elephant in the tales of the Arabian nights.
"African mythology[edit]
Ala, Igbo goddess of fertility
Asase Ya, Ashanti earth goddess of fertility
Denka, Dinka god of the sky, rain and fertility"
Likewise Babar the Elephant is not from the Arabian nights
I'll give the quote for that next

Babar the Elephant is a fictional character who first appeared in the French children's book Histoire de Babar by Jean de Brunhoff in 1931 and enjoyed immediate success.[1][2] An English-language version, The Story of Babar, introduced by A.A. Milne,[3] appeared in 1933 in Britain and the United States. "
Having many Africans as friends, Babaa and Babar are not uncommon names.
Erectus - Yes, I was in fact joking by conflating Ali Baba and Babar the elephant. As for Dinka - it is also an African tribe. I did google it and did not find the fertility reference. My mistake. I do think this would be better without the names, I'm sorry if I expressed that poorly.
The Mughal empire in India was founded by Zahir-ud-din Muhammad Babar, a Chaghatai Turkish ruler born on 14 February 1483. He was the son of the ruler of the petty kingdom of Farghana and inherited his father's precarious throne when he was but eleven years old. Th
just illustrated the law of unintended consequences, would have been my first thought too.

I have to admit I like your poems better when they don't rhyme, but this poem is certainly inventive and well written. Also you rhymed song and schlong which made me giggle and thus is extra points in my book. :D
I recommended this poem in the New Poems Recommendations thread on the forum.
A joke? We do not make fun of people's names, it is low form of humor. I pray God Dinka does not take revenge upon you!
seems to me I remember a rather nasty 1201 poem from you. Oh, yeh. It was your house number. Right.
when you start sniping I remember why I didn't miss you, can you make an effort to be civil and let us enjoy the present and all be kind to each other, as in "Why can't we all be friends".....(the poor s.o.b.who said that way back just died recently) It would seem you need friends on this site!
His accomplice Mir Bakri destroyed a Ram Temple to build the "Babri Masjid " in Ayodhya the legendary Birthplace of Lord Ram : the demolition of the Babri Masjid by Hindu Nationalists in 1991 caused tremendous Political upheavals , rioting & communal divide in India much worse than the Racial divide over Trayvor-Zimmermann or Rodney King in USA !!! So while i really do Not know why an European White joker called an African Elephant Babar people, Babar is Big here in India as the Founder of the Legendary Mughal Empire !?!?
