That Vivian thinks that she is basically sacrificing herself for her family is certainly not a new idea but it is so wonderfully done. This martyrdom is vexing her trainers and I think they are correct that if she ever rebels it will be big – as in murdering her beloved Earl husband! Causing this rebellion will not be easy as it would involve threats to the same family. Nor should they be quick to crush it without considering the consequences. She is doing what they want – Serving the family’s needs and making sacrifices to do so.
Vivian will probably make a wonderful mother and I hope an epilogue shows us some scenes of this.
I hope the Earl shows his loving tender side to her and enables the building of trust as they realise they both seek the same things and complete each other.
I do wonder how this story will progress as there are several ways it could go and thanks for posting something. There is nothing wrong with a little often as it helps us recall the story to mind easily and avoids us having to go back and reread everything.
wooohoooo although short i'm glad u gave us something :-) Vivian gots a lot of strength and i agree mouse i think she will make a great mother. can't wait for the earl to show up. more more more

A loyal heart
The wonderful thing about Vivian is how loyal and caring she is. She will sacrifice everything for her family, although the problem that comes with that is that her marriage will become such a sacrifice.
While I agree with Mickeymouse that if she does rebel later it will be quite substantial, I believe that all her trainers need to do is show her that her family will not be harmed due to her rebellion. Although that in itself could be difficult considering that she is constantly reminded that her families financial security is directly related to her behavior.
So I am very curious how you are going to work things out. Once again a wonderful chapter.
I agree with MM113 that Vivian would make a wonderful mother. Would like to see Vivian to have a MAJOR rebellion. Preferably while the earl is there. May be this story should be moved to NonConsent? Vivian is not consenting to the nightly disciplinary session. She is just agreeing to it for the sake of her family.

I, on the other hand, have been reading a lot of H.P. Lovecraft and Carolyn Faulkner - dark stuff, basically. Reader comments do tend to influence me (this has already become much less harsh than I originally intended because people are so taken with Vivian) but what I read influences me too... so we'll see where it goes. To be honest, Vivian keeps surprising me with what she does, so while I'm following a loose outline, there's a lot of changes that she makes along the way.
I can promise that:
1. The Earl will finally join training in Ch. 14
2. Vivian will get a HEA (at least I think it is)
3. At least one commenter will say something about Stockholm's syndrome
4. Those of you hoping for a major rebellion that involves her getting away from the Earl are going to be disappointed
5. There will be at least one chapter post-wedding
6. I will be making this into a book that will be greatly expanded and have a lot more with Mrs. Banks, Dr. Monroe, and post-wedding Vivian and Earl.
we have to wait till chapter 14 :-( oh well can't wait i'm impatient lol this story is awesome and i would totally buy it i'm still thinking about buying the poker series i love that is it any different in book form and are you on Barnes and Noble?
The Poker Loser trilogy is available on Amazon and on Smashwords, I couldn't figure out the Barnes and Noble self-publishing thing, I may give it a go again in the future. The first book is pretty different from the one on here, the second book barely resembles Allison's New Life and the third book is completely new =)

Incredible Story
I love the slow progression it gets you really invested in the character. It is a wonderful glimpse into how far past our accepted beliefs we can be pushed if there is a little pleasure added to the pain. I am so excited that you are publishing you definitely deserve to be in print. I can't wait for the next installment of Vivian and I love where you are going with the story.
What a great chapter, I love the slow development of the characters and the anticipation of the Earls involvement ! I also like that Vivian is not doing everything that is expected of her and that her loyalty to her family is so strong. I must admit to wanting her to get one up n Mrs Banks though, even if its to go missing when the Earl is there just to gather her thoughts etc. they really shouldn't have it all their own way! Wonderful read. M.
