Everyone is certainly entitled to his or her opinion, but to leave such a rude as comment as "bullshit" while still being "anonymous" seems cowardly. To the second anonymous comment - thank you.
You've given us enough of an alt world to support the action of the story. Using her POV narrows things, but it seems more narrow than just first person. We get so little from her beyond she just rebels and an outline of the appending s around her. Much more detail across all those pesky W questions would make this a more interesting story.
