Complete cr*p!!

Why do some writers think that trying to make out that the Reader was part of the events in the story makes for a good story??
The Reader KNOWS that he/she was NOT there, and did NOT take part, so therefore the story is completely unbelievable and an utter waste of time for anyone to bother reading it!!
1* - because I can't leave a 'half-star'!!
