The sluts that I have met all had a reputation that proceeded them. These women knew about their reputation and did not try to hide it. To think that they would value a monogamous lifestyle is foolish. They were all about getting attention and getting fucked. Light on nuance, but doubles up to catch up on casual, carnal repercussions

This story was about inadvertent payback, without the usual overtones misterstan usually imbues into his stories. Its a departure from the norm when this author karma-slaps down his designated story slut. MS did a nice job of portraying Amy's escalating behavior.

As per ever, the narrator was ineffectual and bewildered throughout his spouse's wilding. Usually misterstan's fictional trollops have a bit more self awareness of the damage being done, not so in this case. Amy's relapse was gradual, but without a backwards glance at the committed relationship she was trashing.

Perhaps that's why the author accorded her such a brutal, carnal cudgeling at the conclusion. This was a 'decent but unexceptional' read which for misterstan is borderline unacceptable.

Okay, so people were expecting the husband to be a cuckold wimp, but he ends up throwing her out in the end. The problem is the story goes through this big build up of the slut wife, hubby does nothing, then it ends in a paragraph or two. First of all, unless the hubby had no feelings for her, he at the very least at the end would have tried to make sure she was okay, she had been brutally raped, and he wouldn't (I hope) just give her the car keys, especially since she probably was drunk (if for the only reason she was likely to kill someone else), and more importantly, because she probably needed medical attention. The story would have worked better with more of an ending, maybe he gets care for her, then when she is done throws her out,and maybe down the road someplace she tries to apologize or whatever......the fact that he sees her raped and his response is to do what he did, makes the husband look like as much of a piece of garbage as the wife, and it is obvious the narrator wants us to sympathize with hubby. It also isn't realistic, as much pain as she gave him, you don't fall out of love that fast nor turn into an animal.

This is actually an old, old story. I wrote it around 1990. Several of the stories I've posted on Lit are that old, though most aren't. This is actually the only story I've ever published elsewhere. It posted it on a dial up BBS back in the very early 1990s, though I doubt even a dozen people read it then.

Anyway my old stories show it. Crude setups, abrupt endings, and an almost complete lack of emotional depth. All the characters are ciphers. I like to think I've improved as a writer since, but the older stories are fun too in a stripped down sense.

When I read these two stories you have just posted I wondered about them because they just don't seem to fit your style of writing that I have come to appreciate. I look back at some of the early things I tried writing and wonder if I should dust them off and post. With only one exception I have always said no. The early stories I tried have so many basic flaws that they would necessitate a complete rewrite to see the light of day. Even the one old story I eventually posted here, Spark and Tinder, I now wish I had gone back and given a thorough editing and rewrite before posting. That's okay, I guess. Since I posted it in the Romance category I am sure most folks who read and spit on my other works never got a chance to even look at it.
